2-0 scoreline probably wasn't fair on our boys as the game was much closer than that ... The defence seemed to lose their formation early in the second half after llooking rock solid for the first 45 minutes ... Whether Ronaldo was offside or not we gave Adriano far too much latitude on the opener, and you will get hurt more often than not doing that against the Brazilians!

We had some excellent chances ourselves (probably non better than Harry's opportunity in the 2nd when Dida fumbled the ball and the net was virtually open) and the boys put in a fantastic effort, particularly Lucas Neill and Brett Emerton (if there was any concerns or doubt over his ability there surely couldn't be after last nights display).

All comes down to Friday morning then huh ... Here's hoping we are set for another momentous occasion for our proud sporting country!

Our pressure was 1st class all night and the early part of the game was at a hundred miles an hour.

There 2 goals came easy though - just a little lapse and the boys were punished.

All in all a very admirable loss to the best nation in the world - me thinks !!!!!

Sometimes it's a cruel, cruel game and there's absolutely no way we deserved to lose that by 2.

We have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of from last night's performance. We more than matched Brazil and didn't deserve to concede those goals, but more importantly should've taken chances of our own. Never mind the amazingly incompetent refereeing which so favoured Brazil.

Our destiny is still very much in our own hands- let's get it done vs Croatia!

Fingers crossed....!!! We may never get this close to going through to the next round in 100 years...!!!!

Kewell I thought looked the goods when he came on but that shot on goal! I'm sure he would kick it 99 times out of 100 but I suppose that's the pressure of the situation as he looked like he was trying to kick it into the stratosphere rather than just poke it into the back of the net. Can only guess what he said in his spray to the ref at the end but I wouldn't mind guessing that he was saying "you got sucked in by the way the media portrays our style of play" as he (the ref)seemed a bit too whistle happy when it came to calling fouls on our guys IMO. Combined with Viduka's touch that was only a mite strong and a few opportunities for Bresciano, it really was a close game but Brazil showed why they are the power of world football, they did enough to win without really setting the world on fire.

1-1 would have been a fair result. We only got stretched at the back on a few occasions and Brazil made us pay on two of them. However, with the chances we created I feel we should have also scored. How valuable would one point from that game been! I think we are growing in stature with every game, the papers over here are applauding our players and on-ground work ethic.

I can tell you folks it was worth ever cent to be in the stadium in Kaiserslautern for the Japan game. Will never forget that day - one of the best in my life. There are all day parties in all of Germany's cities at the moment...the place is alive. If you ever get the chance, please, do yourself a favour...

Singing the antehem was incredible...as you could probably hear for both games on the tele..everyone sang it at volume 11. The aussies certainly have plenty of support in Europe at the moment. Interestingly I heard on the iTV telecast yesterday that the most "in demand" tickets for any game in the WC so far were for the AUS v BRA game. Not sure how they measure it, but anyway...

As for the goals at Kaiserslautern...the first one was pure relief, the second produced roars of unbridled ecstacy and the third tears of joy. The aussie contingent didn't leave the stadium for a good 15 mins after the final whistle. Everyone wanted to soak it up. To put it simply, there was love in the house...and the Japanese fans were great too.
