A-League champion Sydney FC has signed Scott Jamieson.
The 21-year-old, whose contract with Adelaide United ends in June, had trialled with German club Greuther Furth before announcing on Friday that he would remain in the A-League with Sydney for two seasons.
"I am really happy to be joining Sydney FC," said Jamieson, who debuted for the Socceroos against Indonesia last year.
"It is an amazing time to join the club. They are the current A-League champions and will be in the next Asian Champions League.
"I can't wait to begin training and get into it."
Jamieson joins Sydney on a two-year deal and joins goalkeeper Liam Reddy as Sydney's fresh faces after its premiership/championship double last season - with the Sky Blues to announces further acquisitions in coming weeks.
“Scott is a very talented player. He is still very young. He will become an important part of our team and we welcome him to the Sydney FC family,” Sydney FC coach Vitezslav Lavicka said.
“He has already experienced time with an English Premier League team and had success in the A-League both personally and with Adelaide. This is great experience for a player who is still only 21.”
Jamieson made his A-League debut with Adelaide in 2008 after a three-year stint at English Premier League club Bolton as a teenager.
He was the A-League Rising Star of the year in 2008 and will wear the 21 jersey for Sydney.
