Correct decision was made, Palmer has been a disgrace in the last few weeks and has been running the worst club in the league.
You would think its time for a team from West Sydney?

The few games I have seen this year the quality of play has improved in the A league so I don’t think its all doom & gloom.

Gold Coast was always doomed from the start just like their AFL side will be.
A team from Western Sydney will work nicely

I'd suggest the AFL won't use their "ownership" in the same way the governing body of the A league did. Gold Coast and GWS will be there long after the A league is gone.

The Suns will only be around because the AFL has an endless money pit and their TV deals are so big.
Gold Coast will always get poor crowds in any sport, FFA havnt got the coin to keep them afloat like the AFL has

Canberra apparently fuming they won't have a team next year, despite having the money, corporate support and a well run, highly successful W-League side. Bit like Tassie's AFL plight I think.

Been there before with the Canberra Cosmos, had plenty of backing but piss poor crowds.
Need to have good attendances to make it worthwile.
Reckon the last socceroos match in Canberra only drew a couple of thousand people
