2-1 @ Half Time.
Zamora put West Ham up 1-0 in the 12th minute, but Liverpool got 2 goals in the last 3 minutes of the 1st half through Agger & Crouch.

Started watching the game just before half time and saw the goals.
West Ham's goal was a bit lucky, had the keeper been a step or two forward, it would have been a corner.
Take the 2-1 win, could have been a 3-1 win. :)

0-League?? pfft!!

Watched a bit of soccer on the weekend. I watched the 0-League match between Melbourne and Adelaide and the EPL game Hammers v Reds at Anfield. The difference between English Premier League and 0-League is amazing. It's like comparing A3 with the AFL (rather than SANFL or WAFL Football). How anyone can pay money to watch 0-League is staggering. Go Villans.

Ya gotta get behind Australian soccer, its on its way up. I love going to United games, and im stoked they are showing it on Fox now too. United were pitiful Friday night and didnt play as well as normal, at their best they are a joy to watch.

its not that great on tv, but the A-league is as good as it gets in Australia, so its worth supporting, its much better being @ a game than watching it on tv, particularly when its an away game. :D

That is, IMHO, a somewhat misguided argument- no matter how good or how bad the standard of ANY sporting competition might be, it's still worth supporting sport at grassroots level because without it you'll have nothing. No matter how low a level of competition it might be, you have got to give it a fair chance and players have got to give it their all.

And whilst many countries, especially Australia, has its best players playing abroad the same can't be said of many other countries who have many if not most of their star players still in their local comps. That WAS the case in most of the world until recent times, in the same way that the SANFL and WAFL were blessed with some of the best footy talent ever seen at one time (prior to the exodus starting in the 80s).

Agger's goal was the best so far this season ( I know its early doors) - But it was a screamer!!

There's a lot on offer these days and you vote with your feet. I'd hardly call a pre-fabricated National Competition 'grass roots' Soccer, that to me is a misguided comment. I wouldn't call WAFL or SANFL football grass roots level either but I agree with your point about the necessity of this level of sport. The 0-League will eventually improve, but sorry, it just makes me reach for the remote at this stage.
