United 2-0 up at HT thanks to two goals from Bruce Djite against a Sydney side with an eye on their midweek ACL fixture (they made eight changes from last week). On track to go top with Brisbane and City to play tomorrow.

With Victory getting up 4-1 over the Nix today means Sydney have nothing to play for.

United went in unchanged tonight whilst Sydney made 8 changes.

Bruce with a brace (26 and 45). In the sheds at half time up 2-0

Pitch still no better than what it was Tuesday night

Chelo playing his 100th game tonight as a Red and Goodwin in his 100th A-League appearance

Next weekend is the final round. Going to be a cracker. Premiers plate on the line

Newcastle were 1-0 up on Brisbane and had chances to kill it off. Nigel %*%(*ing Boogard gets sent off for the zillionth time and gives away a pen which Brisbane convert. 1-1 after 68 minutes.

Ahead of the final round, the first through fifth are each separated by a point:

Brisbane 47 pts, +9
Adel Utd. 46 pts, +15
Western Syd. 45 pts, +9
Melb. City 44 pts, +21
Perth 43 pts, +11
Melb. Victory 40 pts, +7

And the fixtures, in order:

City v United
CC v Newcastle
Victory v Brisbane
Wellington v Western Sydney
Sydney v Perth

For some reason I think City will start slight favourites. It's a must-win for Adelaide as a draw would almost certainly see them drop down to third with the Wanderers up against the Nix, thereby missing out on the week off...

Seeing as we have the Friday Night match nothing less than a win should be acceptable. No draws and hoping for other results to go our way. A win and that will put the pressure right back on Brisbane.
