There are some A-League players who aren't out of their depth at international level, but Christ I hope he doesn't pick his favourites à la Postecoglou.

Seems to be starting with a bang appointing a former Man U assistant coach Rene Meulensteen. Greatest claim to fame is getting Chistiano Ronaldo to find the back of the net more often.

Daniel Arzani was stretchered off in his Celtic Debut with a suspected ACL injury.

Good to see Awer Mabil start for the Socceroos in their first Asian Cup match.

Not good to see Robbie Marsh out there.

So a failed coach who got us knocked out in the first round of his last Asian Cup is brought back into the mix and we expect a different result?

I only watched the last twenty minutes or so... my goodness what a debacle...

The only plan was to knock it wide and cross it in... knock it wide and cross it in... it wasn't working Jordan had to many on the box...

The two times that Australia played one twos through the middle they were able to get reasonable shots away... though one was offside...

Graham Arnold is a joke s a national team manager

I could stomach him being national team manager better if he didn't pick all his hack Sydney FC mates in the squad.

I'm not a fan of Graham Arnold, but we have to be realistic. We currently have a fairly average squad with very few creative players. In fact, you could argue that our only creative players are all injured. Even if we get out of the group stage I can't see us progressing too far.

Not sure which one makes me laugh the most

Arnold coaching
Milligan Capt or
Grant in the squad at all let alone starting!

Probably Milligan for mine. Proper spud.

Australia to scrap in and be knocked straight out. Worst Socceroos squad I’ve seen and that’s saying something!
