Yep, a bit of a reversion to the mean. Our defending was atrocious last season, and yesterday normal service resumed.

It appears that Veart did a good job of introducing a bit more variety into our attack over the off-season, but with our defensive cattle we're going to bleed goals against most sides. FFS why couldn't Corica have been given another week?

And the Mariners lose again, the worst start by a champion ever. :(

Woohoo! The Champions finally win a game, goals to Roux and 2 youngsters, always great to win a derby.
We win the trophy for a piece of road! 8)

United’s defence is an absolute shambles again tonight.
It’s really their only weakness and will stop them being a serious contender

Mariners sell another of their championship players, Tulio off to Japan.
Hardly any left now. :(

What a farce the United Round in Sydney was.
11,918 to the double header including Sydney and 7,117 to the double header including West Sydney both in world class stadiums.
And friends and family at the other games.
Shame as there was some damn good games and great to see Adelaide beat Sydney.

Silly concept (although not a silly as selling the grand final to Sydney).

Tough as well for the teams playing against the Sydney clubs on their own grounds. Our game was just like any Adelaide United away match against Sydney. 10k of their supporters, a couple of hundred of hours.

Hopefully there's only one more year of it then we go to a proper balanced schedule.

Rumour going around that half of the A League staff, about 40 people, just got retrenched.

Virtually confirmed by Fox Sports:

The A-League is in financial turmoil, with the Australian Professional Leagues undergoing an “organisational restructure” that has led to mass redundancies on the back of horror crowds at last weekend’s Unite Round in Sydney.

Season really going down the gurgler for United. Really struggle to pick anyone who didn't play badly last night. Perhaps Mauk gets a pass, came on and at least looked like he cared.

He was scathing of his team mates after the game, definitely tells it as it is!

Hard to believe the Mariners are ahead of the Victory on the ladder despite them being undefeated and us losing our first four games!
Our next game is against the top Nix, Tuesday afternoon at 2pm. :?

Sell your best players and not invest back into the squad, that’s the United way

That was a rough handball call against WSW given how they've changed interpretation of the rule as intent

Battle for top spot ended up a nil all draw.
I'll take that with our amount of travel lately and after a warm game in Adelaide Sat night a Tue arvo gig in NZ was always going to be difficult agains the top side.
Wellington probably the best side (easily in the first half) but we can home strong to have the last 3 shots on target. I'm amazed with how fit our lads are this year, maybe all the travel in Asia is helping rather than hindering us.
Anyway, Wellington are good but I reckon they'll drop a few points on the mainland later in the season so we're still in a good spot.
Good crowd today, their highest, over 12k.
Was funny we wore yelllow and they wore black though with most of their supporters and all the seats at the bowl being yellow.

Please one normal day in this league is all we ask for.

Yesterday was utter comedy, and I loved every second of it of it.

But yeah just let the teams wear the correct jerseys and arrive at the correct stadium at the correct time please..

Wow, what a game in Macarthur in the Zonal AFC Cup final game!
Mariners 1 nil up
Bulls 2-1 up
Mariners win 3-2 in the 120th minute in Extra Time and pocket 153k and go on to the semi!
Next AFC Cup game in March.
