Shane Smeltz

Does anyone know whatever happened to Shane Smeltz who played a couple of seasons for Adelaide United before Kosmina sent him packing?

Was probably one of the better young strikers I have seen play for United and was barely given a chance by Kosmina. He would play one week and score and get dropped the next...

I was talking to Shane’s father in law the other day. He is in the UK and earning big bucks playing for Halifax Town. Also reckons that Kosmina had it in for him and treated him like shit when he was with United.

Heard a whisper the other day that Shane may be coming back to Australia after this season in the UK for family reasons. A couple of interstate clubs are apparently sniffing around for his services. His wife has family connections in Adelaide and one can only hope that United get off their ass and talk to him.

Good lad is Freddy. Like all good 21/22 year olds, he loves a brew.

Shane Smeltz scored 2 goals (nearly a hatrick) playing for New Zealand against Wales on Saturday night. He was best on ground by a mile.

Yeah he scored twice against Wales but he has only scored twice all season for Halifax I think, and they are only in the Conference.

Why would United want him now with Burns, Djite and Ago in the squad, they also have Dez Giraldi.

Question is, with Burns, Agostino, Sarkies, Dodd, Giraldi & Djite , do AU really need him?
