Clarets v Spurs

Postby Punk Rooster » Mon Jan 26, 2009 12:17 am

Watched the game live, cheered the Clarets on, was ecstatic at the 3-0 result, devastated to see they went down 2-0 in extra time.
Great effort by the Clarets- giving away a 3-1 goal aggregate, very brave to level at 4-4.
Was the "Duff", Damian Duff, ex-Newcastle?

Cheers Punky. Bloody stoopid rule. Only 2 years ago the rule was 'after 90 mins', then they changed it to 'after 30 mins of extra time'.

Still rules is rules.

No, Damian Duff is still at Newcastle (atm). The Burnley Duff is Michael. good player too. former manager Steve Cotterill brought him to Burnley from Cheltenham Town, cotts former club. Stepped up the grades pretty well too, but had a bad cruciate knee ligament injury at the start of 2008 season, that kept him out for the whole season, and he is only just starting to find his form. CKL injuries often wipe out a players career.

Burnley have been involved in a few thrillers lately. What about the stoppage time equaliser yesterday against WBA.

Yeah, we are getting our fair share of publicity this year. and a pretty good record against the EPL sides too. Sky called us "the curse of the premiership" yesterday

I gave a mate the tip on the game last night. I said there is always at least 1 upset in FA Cup rounds. I told him to bet on either Burnley or the Draw. He went the draw... and won.
