rumours that RVP is about to sign a contract extension with us ;)

Also, Song rumoured to be on his way to barca. Fabregas has apparently put a good word in for him

Just to show how much knowledge I've lost on the current footy landscape, who is Joe Allen and is he any good?

Also, sounds to me like Dan Agger is off to Man City

Joe Allen is handy midfielder but he aint no superstar and definately overpriced.
Been at Swansea since his youth days but cant remember him dominating games. Played for the Brits in the Olympics and was solid but nothing outstanding. The Welsh rave about him but you or I could get a game in the Welsh National side
Would be a good buy if he was half the asking price

United are chasing him fairly hard.
Arsenal have said they want £20m for him but £25m for him to go to another EPL side.
I hope United dont waste the money, would rather take him for free next season or spend the money on younger talent

Ferguson - "We're not getting any breakthrough with Arsenal. It's difficult to say why they're operating this way. I don't know what their thoughts are, because they're not giving anything away."

Does the saying "show me the money" ring any bells Alex?

- Maybe offer more for what your offering fergie, then Arsenal might talk. You got a ridiculos amount for C Ronaldo, maybe this is a hint you might need to do the same. Not meaning hes worth the same as C Ronaldo, but money talks.......

We would be stupid to pay too much for him, remember you are only buying out a 1 year contract, if he still had 2-3 years left on his contract Fergie would pay 30-40m for him.

And Arsenal would be stupid to rollover and give him up for anything less than the highest dollar they can get

Correct. Thats why I cant see the deal happening.
We would be much better to wait until he becomes a free transfer.
Personally not too fussed if he comes or not, plenty of other better valued options available

Off topic I know, but when you guys first signed Van Nistelrooy (sp?), what sort of price was he (understanding the inflated values of today) and how heralded was he? Did he make his biggest name with you guys, or had he blitzed elsewhere before he landed at OT?

He had a couple of cracker years at PSV and was top scorer in Holland for 2 consecutive seasons and was also in the Dutch national side. Reckon we paid around the £18m mark for him.

Adam Johnson to Everton.
Thanks to an agreement made over the Rodwell deal City have offered Everton first dibs to Johnson.
Adam Johnson had a big fight with Mancini before the Charity Shield and told him he wants out
