2) any rule FIFA bring in can be circumvented. Profit can be massaged by simply paying £50m for a box for the year

City and thier wealth are here for the long term, unless the Arabs just get bored

Money doesnt guarantee sucess though.
Ask real madrid who spend squillions and have squat to show for it.

Dont have the exact figures on me but i am led to believe Real Madrid have quite a few league titles and European Cups to show in their trophy cabinet.

That is true, they were the best side by a mile.
But im talking last 5-10 years, they were not getting the european sucess they desired so they just went out and bought all the stars. They currently have absolute stars sitting on the bench and have more talent and money than they know what to do with but barca is still trumping them. They havnt had too much sucess in last 5 years with a bottomless pit of money that could buy whoever they wanted

They won their fair share of cups when smashing transfer records to buy the likes of Figo, Zidane & Beckham.

Obviously havent won much with their recent big transfers of Ronaldo & Kaka but they are still very much in with a shout in the Champs League & La Liga this year.

I'm happy for this discussion about Man City and Real Madrid to continue, it distracts attention from Spurs recent form slump. :-$

Abolutely true JIM, money guarantees nothing. You need stability and a good manager. That is the secret of Utd's success.

Real Madrid have gone from being the Spanish Liverpool to ......... well....... The Spanish Liverpool ;)

Chin up Fish, our poor form is only in the most important third of the pitch, the central and back third are working fine. Arry must find a world class striker.

Chick behind the counter at Harbour Town today looked at my cap and said "So you're a Liverpool supporter, I follow Tottenham"

LOL ... There's a lot of proud supporters popping up now, it's amazing how all clubs have a lot more supporters when they're going alright.

(This isn't a sledge on Spurs btw, just that the example involved them)

OK come on Bully, MH and Jimbo, give it to Fish and me. What can I say, haven't watched the game, but obviously Fulham eased up in the second half after giving us an absolute pounding in the first. Lucky I don't have Setanta and won't be seeking out any downloads, have imposed a media ban at my house, the kids are on rations, not talking to the wife, but apart from that, life is good.

Ever since he came back from the scousers, he hasn't been worth a pinch. Can't even make the bench in half the games, past his golden best, but great player for the Spurs in his time, good luck to the man.

i think its better to focus on the reason why you guys were 4-0 down at half time. whats the reason at spurs that the wheels have fallen off a bit?

Arry doesn't want the FA Cup to get in the way of his assault on the CL ;)

Apparently Spurs have had 2 bids turned down today.
1 for 36.5 million pounds for Aguero and 22 million pounds for Llorente, both of Atletico Madrid.

Have spurs got that money ?

Not going to rub it in.
To give away 2 penalties and be a man down after 14 minutes set the tone of the day. No coming back from that. The 4th was a good goal by dembela

I think I will try that every time, throw myself to the wolves when we have a sh.te performance, seemed to work well.

JTC, I was thinking the same thing about the CL, we certainly don't have the depth of the 3 other EPL sides left. Certainly Arry wouldn't and neither would the players not try, so full credit to Fulham. But I think full focus on EPL and CL - nothing else left really. As I said in previous post, we need to increase ground capacity to the 56K or move to the Olympic Stadium to even attempt to realise the dream of competing with the big boys, unless of course there is a saudi reading this forum that has a spare billion, would only take Arry the next transfer window to spend that.

Jimbo, you forgot Pienaar, we got the SAAFA on the first day. Looks like Modric will be playing centre back for us next game, we have gone through the first string, the backups and not much left.
