Indeed 17 points from your last 8. Same as Derby. The 2 form sides ATM.

Derby will crash soon though....

Forest the worst performed side, only 4 points from last 8

Portsmouth have been issued a winding up petition over an unpaid tax bill, will be forced to sell players to foot the bill, they already have the smallest squad in championship.

Another club in the doldrums through bad management and financial oddities. Maybe Harry could give back the £93,000 he pocketed for the sale of Crouch (allegedly)

It does make you wonder how the taxman let them get so far behind with their payments. If I am 1 day late he is on my back like a rocket

Yeah its over £1m, how did they get away with it. As always its the loyal fans who cop it at the end. Did mention that they have the smallest squad in championship, was reported that they have only 11 outfield players on their books ATM and they need to sell a couple to pay off the debt

Rumour has it if Pompey get wound up and cannot fulfill the reamaining fixtures(a big possibility at the moment)all points earned against them will be lost.

Bad news for West Ham as they would lose 6 points and Southampton only one.

No wonder there are plenty of good wishes on Pompey forums by Hammers fans at the moment.

West Ham flogged 5-1 by Ipswich this morning
Hammers very active in transfer market, have already picked up Ravel Morrison from United and Ricardo Vaz Te from Barnsley.
Brum paste Leeds 4-1, Zigic scoring all 4

Hammers still on top as Saints held 1-1 at home by 3rd placed Cardiff.
Brum definately the one to watch out for at the moment and are home to the out of form Southampton on Saturday, although Saints will get a few players back and will probably have new signing Billy Sharp in the side.

WTF is wrong with Forest this season, can't beleive they are near the bottom-especially as I picked them for a play off spot at the start of the season.
Pompey should send Forest a big thank you letter for taking Steve Clotterball off their hands.

Early odds for the vacant Leeds job.

Warnock 10/11
Di Matteo 5/1
Djones 8/1
Redfearn 9/1
L Clark 10/1
S Bruce 10/1
Wise 12/1
Curbishley 12/1

Neil Warnock-Colin W@nker
Has to be one of the most appropriate anagrams ever. but would do well at Leeds I would think.

Warnock has taken three sides to the top division, so he would be exactly what Leeds are looking for.

Think he has only taken 2 to the top flight and Sheff Utd went straight back down and QPR only went up thanks to them being cashed up. Warnock is hopeless and a tosser so yes he would fit in well at Leeds ;)

Warnock took Notts County into the 1st Division in the early 90's.

He's won promotion with 7 different clubs at four different levels (if you count getting a team from the Conference into the Football League). Hopeless.

Warnock may not be a Premier League manager, but if Mark Hughes keeps QPR up it will be because Warnock got them there in the first place - I think Leeds will settle for that kind of situation.

Yeah he took Notts County to div 1 but they went straight back down and cost them a spot in the EPL.
Most of QPR's rise to the EPL is due to the club having new owners with fat wallets but he does have a knack for promotion, he just cant keep sides there.
I always rated Curbishley, reckon he would be a good fit at Leeds, he just always seemed to get the best of his players.

Curbishley would be a great get, but Birmingham is as far north as he has spent his playing and managerial career.

The new owner came on board in August - after promotion. Despite Ecclestone's riches, there were no big money signings in the Championship winning side. They went up on the goals of Adel Taarabt (who might have cost a reasonable fee) and journeyman Heidar Helguson. The back four consisted of "household names" like Clint Hill and Kaspar Gorkss. Warnock picked up excellent loan players in Wayne Routledge and Kyle Walker. Sounds like good management to me.
