Optus Business and Tabcorp sign two-year deal
MONDAY 21 AUGUST Aug 21 2017

Catch the English Premier League 2017/18 season live at Tabcorp’s Sky Racing 4,500 venues through Optus Sport

Optus Business and Tabcorp have signed a two-year deal to broadcast the English Premier League and the 2018 FIFA World CupTM to Sky Racing venues across Australia.

The deal gives Sky Racing venues an opportunity to enhance the customer experience by showing the full range of live Premier League fixtures in SD in any public viewing area of their venue where their existing Sky Racing channels can be broadcast.

Within the first few rounds of the EPL season, hotels, clubs and TAB agencies that are part of the initial roll out will broadcast matches in ideal timeslots such as Bournemouth v Manchester City (Saturday 26 August 9.30pm AEST) and Manchester City v Liverpool (Saturday 9 September at 9.30pm, AEST).

The new agreement means venues can feature Optus Sport 1, the 24/7 Premier League channel, via their Sky Racing boxes, with an option to show a second live game when multiple games are played at the same time. Sky Racing 1, 2 and Trackside will remain unchanged and will continue to be shown in all venues with Optus Sport an addition to the Sky broadcast in pubs, clubs and TAB agencies.

The 24/7 Premier League channel Optus Sport 1, features a wealth of UK and locally produced programming, including Daily News, shows such as Match Previews/Reviews, Countdown to Kick-off, Fanzone, Premier League World, Netbusters and match highlights from the round.

Tabcorp Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer David Attenborough said: “The broadcast of the English Premier League and the 2018 FIFA World CupTM to hotels, clubs and TAB agencies will deliver additionnal benefits to our venue partners. Outside of the three codes of racing, soccer is consistently one of the most popular sports with Tabcorp customers and the Premier League is the most popular soccer competition.”

John Paitaridis, Managing Director, Optus Business said: “Tabcorp is a longstanding customer of Optus, through its relationship with Optus Satellite. This new agreement represents a significant step for Optus in expanding and broadening our relationship with Tabcorp with new infrastructure and media services.”

The intention is currently for Optus Sport to be rolled out to Tabcorp’s Sky Racing venues during August and September.

Ahead of the action, viewers can tune in and join Richard Bayliss and Michael Bridges for Countdown to Kick-Off; an in-depth yet light-hearted look at what is in store this weekend.

Witnessed one of the worse performances from an Arsenal squad in my 20 years of being a fan. This club needs and clean out from the owner down. Wenger is ******* clueless. Absolutely spineless

Something not right at the Emirates MH. Ramsey was completely uninterested in midfield. It looks to me like half the team aren't playing for the coach. They'll finish top 6 probably but I can't see them making any challenge for European places. Big mistake giving Wengef another two years.

Their problem isn't just this year though. Since 2013 season they have played the top 6 sides 21 times away winning only 2 games and collecting 13 points. They've conceded 3 goals or more 8 times ina total of 57 goals. That is not a record for a serious title challenger.

Wenger has always focused on attack but he doesn't even seem to have many quality options in that department this year.

Kane has never scored a premier league goal in August in his entire career. Had a couple of good chances yesterday, one forcing a great save out of Heaton. It's only your 2nd home game there in the league, and Kane's August hoodoo is done, so he'll start scoring again now.

Mike Dean again the fraud. Robbed the Cherries of a deserved point

Watched this last night JIM and don't agree. Sending Sterling of was a joke but being as it was a 2nd yellow, City can't appeal.
There were a couple of instances where Dean could have taken action against the Bournemouth player and chose not to, especially when Jesus was deliberately tripped when he was through on goal. Dean only gave a yellow when it was a stone wall red card any day of the week. If anything Jim, anyone not wearing Red and Black glasses might argue Dean's cards might appear biased against City. ;) Having said that I do agree, he made some shockers during the game.

Was talking about his "Fergie time" at the end. Didn't think there were enough stoppages to constitute the initial 5 minutes of injury time but then it turned into 8 minutes lol

I'm still not convinced by us just yet

I want to put a roley eyes emoji here Jim  bit disrespectful to the other 3 sides including a team that has won the league title more recently than you. The first 4-0 win was an exhibition in total football and a game that you might have drawn last year. 22 Shots with 8 on target shows the total dominance they had. The 2nd game, also a 4-0 win, this time away as United have another 17 shots on goal with 8 on target whilst restricting the home side to no shots on goal. Ok it took them longer to break Swansea down but that's only because they parked the bus and played a very defensive game and for Utd to score 4 shows their quality this year. They can only play what's put in front of them Jim, and they have midfield with Matic, that is going to destroy most sides, couple with probably one of the best strikers in the league in Lukaku, who is the perfect foil for your game plan.

And remember the special one has never failed to win the league title in his second year no matter where he has been.

Maybe a tad disrespectful but I'd be surprised if Swansea and West Ham don't finish in the bottom 4 and Leicester in the bottom half. All I'm saying is I want to see how we go against other quality sides. I have no doubt we can/will finish top 3 but still think City and the Chavs may edge us

Just realised that Matic only cost United £40m
That is an absolute steal. His partnership with Pogba will be sensational this year

I agree that something is not right but Arsenal keep everything in house so we'll never know. Some of his decision are baffling. For instance playing Ox and Bellerin at LWB and RWB. playing LB at CB, selling Gabriel and about to loan out Mustafi when we don't have enough center backs. We signed a Kolasinic who was in the Bundisliga team of the season at LB and he plays him in the midfield. Why Welbeck started instead of Lacazette I'll never know. At least start Giroud with Liverpool being suspect at set pieces. Then he brings on Lacazette and plays him on the wing! The bloke has lost the plot and he got a ******* 2 million pound pay rise! We have no identity anymore. We just keep passing sideways or backwards. The shite teams we were fielding in the early 2010s at least attacked with some gusto. I don't think we'll even finish top 6. This season could get very toxic. AND we have about 6-8 players who's contracts run out next season how the **** does that happen. I can't see us going up at all. When the fraud goes we need to target a defensive minded coach, wenger has no ******* clue on how to defend

Aurier is a gun but a absolute nut job. Will be interesting to see how long he lasts, he has been banned from the UK for the last year so I'm surprised the courts overturned his ban on entering the country

A nice and comfortable 3 nil win to Spurs away to Everton, we should dump Wembley and play all our games away!
