Liverpool smashed United but didn't win the game mate!
So you were born in Liverpool like every other Liverpool supporter in the world? Constance Perm were you born in Liverpool?

Yeah you won a lot of stuff years ago, you are still yet to win a Premier League title and don't even look like winning a league title in the near future. Your 'treble' consisted of two crap trophies while United won the Big 3.

"We'll win it 6 times"? Who is "We"? What part of Liverpool were you and the other Australian based Liverpool supporters born in champ?

Actually Chelsea deserve some fair credit, having been much publicised this season for owner/manager relations, sub-par form (at times) they are still a realistic chance for the biggest of treble's (actually, didn't they win the League Cup also?).

And you call yourself a Red CP? Shame on you mate.

There is not a team in Europe that can beat Liverpool over two legs at the minute. Playing at the Bridge in the first leg, with Essien missing, will see the reds grab a draw at the very least. Back to Anfield to finish them off in front of the world's greatest fans.

Liverpool v United in the final, no worries.

Man Utd would have no trouble at all beating Liverpool over two legs, you can't even beat us at Anfield !!!!
As for 'world's greatest fans'.. Liverpool fans remind me of the Barmy Army at times, don't really care about the fact they rarely win anything they are more concerned over having the best fans ever.

That's hilarious Marty, even your former captain Roy Keane said that UTD had too many prawn sandwich eating "viewers" than supporters.

show me a picture of old Trafford that has a better picture of it's supporters than this....Image
That picture was after Leeds defeated Liverpool on the last day to snatch the league from Liverpool at Anfield........or a more modern picture to whet your appetite of LFC fans......Image

In your words "LFC rarely win anything" why is LFC the most decorated club in England?
Does that mean that UTD win comps with more irregularity and more " meaningless trophies" ??

LOL .. I knew I would be copping it over that post ... Sorry mate, but I'm never a confident supporter at the best of times (lol the weirdest exception to that was at halftime of the 2005 CL Final when I told a mate "I'm having too good a night for us to lose this, we'll make history here").

I just think Liverpool carry this certain aura that get's them up in Europe, but I don't think said Aura holds the same effect over Chelsea.

JTC, any news on how severe Bellamy's knee injury is?? Didn't look good on the box this morning!

Bellamy set to miss only two games C_P and should be available for the CL 1st leg at Chelski.

RM, it is fair to say you don't have to have been born in the UK to have an allegiance. I was born in Adelaide to 'scouse' parents and have followed the Reds since I was old enough to know. What annoys me about a lot of United supporters, and some Liverpool to be fair, is they have jumped on the bandwagon because the team was winning things or their kit looks good with jeans, much like a lot of Chelsea fans at the minute.

The 'lot of stuff years ago' arguement is a silly one. United have won very little in the last three or so years, does that make their achievements any less meaningful? The Premiership alludes LFC at the moment but aside from that, 'we' have still been one of the most successful clubs in Britain over the last ten years in terms of silverware won. That 19th title is a lot closer than you would like to admit, perhaps two or three world class players closer.

As far as fans go, I think you have been put back in your box sufficiently by another poster! Roy Keane and his 'prawn sandwiches'........ Classic!

Born and bred in little old Adelaide Marty ... Both sides of my family have always been staunch Aussie Rules and there was no place for Soccer, but as a lad (probably 7 or 8 yrs old) I'd get up early on a Sunday morning waiting for the Aussie Rules re-cap shows to come on TV.

Whilst waiting for it, I'd have to sit through the English Soccer and NBA and the teams which seemed to receive the most airplay were both Liverpool FC and the Boston Celtics, two teams I have (and still do) always supported since those days!

Now in this day and age with the coverage we get I'll take interest in watching pretty much any match between and teams.

As for the "Us" part, I live (and pretty much always have) in Port Adelaide territory but follow the Legs ... Does this mean I'm not a true Norwood supporter?

As for how successful the LFC is, sure, we haven't won the "Premiership", but we've won the top flight domestic competition in England more than any other, does it really matter what's it called?

My story is similar Constance Perm, except I was brought up in North territory and obviously support North. My family was all aussie rules, my old man didn't even really follow the cricket, it's all North for him but I saw Man Utd on tv when i was about 10 wearing red and white and decided to follow them. I wasn't having a dig at you by the way, MST had a go at me for referring to Man Utd as "us" even though i wasn't born in Manchester. It turns out neither you or MST were born in Liverpool and I have no problem at all with that. You don't have to be born there to have passion and pride for your team.

Christ you dont have to be born somewhere to refer to your team as US. By doing that you are showing the passion of a true supporter. As long as you do not become a bandwagoner like some do, then I say go for your life !!!

Wooo hooo 2-1 to Sunderland!

Brummies up 2-1 over Southampton.

And a late penalty secures a 2-1 win for Ipswich over Derby. What a disappointing result for the Rams.

Sunderland 82
Derby 78
Birmingham 77

FC United are steamrollering their way throught the league. Won today beating Colne 5 -0. They play home games at Bury's gigg Lane so they can accompdate their fans. they get between 5,000 - 7,000 at a home game (not too bad in a league with gate averages of around 500 tops). They have such a big following that opposition clubs often opt to play at their ground for the revenue.
They play in the Northern Prem Div1 league so as far as playing Man U goes, they are 6 divisions below and whilst they are topping their league, they still have a bit to go yet. (Unless of course a micacle happens and Man U have 3 consecutive relagations and FC United have 3 consecutive promotions, then they could be playing each other in 4 years time  )

AFC Wimbledon play at the same level in the Southern League. Not fairing as well but it is not suprising. Wimbledon AFC was never a well supported club before the move to Milton Keynes, in fact this was one of the main reasons for the move. They lost their ground at Plough Lane and played for a season or two at Crystal Palace. Remember a home premiership game where there was only about 5,00 fans there (P1ss poor really for a club that managed about 10 years in the top flight on a shoestring and produced some in your face players like Wise (later of Chelski and now manager of Leeds U), Jones (the movie star  ), Sanchez, (New Fulham manager, and NI manager and scorer of the penalty that beat Liverpool in the FA Cup final, Holdsworth, Dave Beasant (the only keeper with two left hands in the league) Cort, Eghiogh, and of course Justin Fashanou (famous for the matchfixing scandle involving Bruce Grobbelaar, and for coming out of the closet)

As a footnote. apart from the famous FA cup final victory over Liverpool, Wimbledon pulled of another unbelievable FA cup upset when, as a Southern League amatuer team, they won at Burnley, then in the top flight (oh the memories  ) 1 - 0 at Turf Moor.

Yeah mate, when I first started following the game I chose Man Utd for reasons explained above but when I got older I started to get more in touch with my family's history and my grandpa was born in Wales near Cardiff so I started to follow them as well. That was when they were in the 3rd division.
