Could be the end for Pool in the CL

Reckon this could be Benetez' last season at Liverpool. Plays with the team too much and can't moan about not getting who hw wants. £50m spend hasn't brought them anywhere near Man U and the way Rafa the Rotator swaps the team around week in week out, they are not getting the change to gel.

I reckon there's every chance one of Stevie G or Rafa might not be at the club next season.

No doubting the Red's poor form ... One has to wonder whether our downturn in form commencing around the time Pako left is purely coincidental?? :(

saw the first half of real madrid and olympiakos

real madrid - given the ultra defensive way olympiakos payed should have won by more, i dont know if thats credit to the defense or the poor striking.
Matty Wade is a star and deserves more respect from the forum family!

True. I'll confirm a time with the boss, and let you know. I'd say early in the new year after your big day.

Looking forward to it.

I know a certain North London club that would be chomping at the bit to get his services. Although said club may prolong SG's current poor form into an ongoing period of mediocrity and underperforming.

Benitez is safe..
He just got the backing of the owners...

In all honesty I think he'll go at LEAST 1 more season.

He still has lots of crap in the team, with a bigger budget in previous seasons would've probably been let go by now.

IMHO - Another central defender in case Carra or Agger get injured. Agger has been injured and the only cover we have is Hyypia who is too slow these days.

Riise - Only has a long throw and a left foot...TOO Roberto Carlos like for me ( over rated and once every 18 months will score a great free kick) NOT enough to warrant a spot for mine and must be sold seasons end.

MOMO Sissoko - Send him to Juve whilst he still has value.... Can't shoot, tackle or pass. ONLY runs around in circles, a liability.

Peter Crouch - I'm a big fan of his and he has a good record when he starts but if you're not going to pick him, sell him whilst he still has value. I think we already have a replacement striker in Babel anyway, I think he is a Thierry henry waiting to happen......converted winger to prolific striker..

Finnan - His best days are GONE, great servant and honest player but another right back needed.

I'd like to see Quaresma (GUN), and another central defender brought in.

Strewth Smithy, I reckon ALL of that is spot on!!

Whilst we have a superior list now in terms of talent, to previous seasons, the back has been a glaring ommission and I'm surprised it was allowed to get this far, although RAFA did have a fair crack at Heinze which probably would have made a difference.

Reckon Finnan is alright to keep, but perhaps only as a backup option ... Arbeloa is a better player than Riise and I agree that Momo just lacks the touch that we need in the EPL - makes up for this with his ball winning abilities in the slower paced Champs league, but won't get us where we need to be in the EPL.

The left is still a problem ... For this season we need Harry to get back fit and then we need to buy a quality option for that side, or hope that someone like Aurelio can play up there - perhaps even run Stevie on the right and switch Pennant to the left?

Whatever it takes, it would want to start soon or else the season will have skipped us by.

Man. Utd. 4 - 1 Middlesbrough
United were absolutely awesome. The partnership struck up between Rooney and Tevez is really starting to gel and the 3rd goal was unbelievable. Rooneys vision is something else and United looked a league above Boro. To be fair Boro had a chance to make it 2 - 1 but Downing missed an easy header. Little stat: United have broken a 100 year record by scoring 4 goals in each of their last 4 games.
Chelsea 6 - 0 Man. City
Forget this as a result. City were so bad in defence even Burnley would have beaten them 3 - 0 yesterday. Lampard spat his dummy out again, and to be fair Chelski are looking more like their old selves. Snarling and moaning at every decision that doesn't go their way, and throwing themselves on the floor like they used to.
Sunderland 1 - 1 Fulham
Fulham did enough to win this before the Cats got a sniff. The never say di attitude of Sunderland must be applauded though and they should have won it in the last minute but for a glaring miss. Fulham have only taken 10 out of a possible 65 points away from home now.
Birmingham 3 - 2 Wigan
Steve Bruse is still waiting to find out if he has a job when the new owners take over. They are being very coy at the moment. A good win to Brum all the same. Went 2 - 1 down to Wigan after taking the lead.
Portsmouth 0 - 0 West Ham
Portsmouth missed a penalty in the 91st minute after a great open game. You can always count on West Ham to play open football
Reading 2 1 Newcastle
Alladyce still has a lot to prove at Newcastle. Great substitution by Coppell by bringing on Long who scored with his 2nd touch. his 1st touch was to control the ball before shooting.

Whilst in danger of appearing to talk to myself, it sure looks like White Hart Lane is the pace to be if you want to see goal action.

For entertainment and "beautiful" football, if anyone out there hasn't seen an Arsenal game this year, do your best to do so ... Their one touch passing and pace are a sight to behold and they are well drilled ... I think their only vulnerability is at the back, but their offensive game more than makes up for it - A quality, quality team.

Liverpool, whilst having been unsettled for the last few months mainly via injury (and or the gaffers rotation policy), are still clearly behind the big 3 imho.

Worst attack and worst defence! At least Bolton got their hands on Gary Megson before we could blunder upon him.
