I hope Carra never retires. Spurs will lose their all time high scorer in Liverpool v Tottenham games.
It will be a sad day ;)

Make your way here constance
I got the fridge stacked and it's gonna take a hammering now.

Pompey score from a player who was effectively offside in the build up ( though I;m happy it stood).
Masch makes a tackle deserving of a yellow and get's sent off with what seemed to be feedback from the 4th official which I'm certain can't be done.
If masch wasn't injured in the tackle the ref would've given a yellow immediately I reckon, but he seemed to be chatting away in his headphones a fair bit whilst treatment was given and waited before deciding.
I'm cool with ref's using this technology but use it every match FFS !
It was a yellow card at worst.
I'm just waiting for the beachballs to arrive.

I didn't think it was Red, although I must admit I'd like to see it again .. I reckon the crowd and player reaction played it's part, and also as you said, Masch staying down (which he needs to stop doing on every occasion).

Also, I reckon the biggest killer for Masch was that the player was on his way down when challenged!

This could be the making of our season (or whats left of it) if we're good enough (which is highly questionable this season), but it would be a brave Reds fan to hold their breathe on that one!!

3 other quick points to add before I break another remote.

when is aquilani going to start a game ?

johnson has been absolutely hopeless the past 3-4 games since his great start.

lucas. ;) no creativity, no vision, no pace, no heading ability, no tackling ability, no shooting ability, no ability !

down to 10 men and lucas in midfield, i need another beer

OH and I forgot to mention, which other club in the world would have dossena as a left winger given the other players that are available ?
rafa trying to put him in the shop window maybe ?

we could trade him for arantxa sanchez-vicarios left flap maybe ? she's from spain isn't she ?

Ive tried not to jump too heavily on the anti-Lucas bandwagon, but it's hard not to, I really don't think he offers any threat to the opposition ... Masch is the better of the two, but you could even argue that he doesn't offer enough.

The EPL is all about speed and creativity in the middle and forward, with rock solid back 4 .. We can compete on 2 of those 3 levels IMHO.

I know hindsight is a wonderful thing, but Ive been banging on for a couple of years now on an LFC Forum about why we let this bloke go .. Nothing spectacular ability-wise, but honest and I'd take him over our Brazilian dud any day!!

What's going on at Liverpool? that's a bas loss.
I agree cp - I have constantly thought spurs could have done better to hold onto Murphy rather than persist with the likes of jenas and zokora. Just to rub it in, apparently he was fantastic again for fulham against manure and scored a great goal.

Sorry smithy, cp but what the hell has happened to Liverpool. Lost only 2 games all year last year but this year they are a team with no passion, no cohesion, no flair and thier skill level has fallen through the floor.

Talk about a stuffed up club. Shankley must be turning over in his grave. No money, a manger that has lost the plot completely, they actually look like a tema that aren't playing for the manager anymore.

Can't disagree with any of that Johnnyboy, and sadly I really dont know what the answers are ... One thing I will say is that when a team in any sporting code experiences such a slide, I reckon there's always more than just the 1 problem. :(

I guess lack of confidence has something to do with it but thier body language just doesn't seem right

Such a marked change from last season, when you really felt we could score against anyone ... You just knew on the weekend that if we didn't net once or twice in the first 25 minutes we dominated, that we would concede and thats exactly how it turned out!

LOL .. Hate all forms of football!!!

All good points above.
What has happened to Reina? I thought both goals were fairly poor on his part. Sure they were good strikes, but IMO, in the position both goals were scored from, the keeper should always get something on it.

If the ball was crossed back into the path of a striker, understandable, but a direct strike on goal which finds the back of the net from that angle without any intervention from the keep is a bit poor.

Or am I being too harsh?

Mascherano's red was a bit weak. He was actually lucky not to either break his own leg or do his knee in that challenge. The Pompey player would have nuts like pancakes I'd imagine too.

I agree that if Pepe lined himself up a bit better he should have got something on the first shot .. I would suspect that with the second he over compensated to the near post as a result.

To be fair to him though, I reckon he's had an excellent season and I'd hate to think how bad it could have been without him ... He's not had A great deal of help ahead of him.

I've found myself at times this year wishing Sami Hyppia was still there, that's gotta say something when you're missing a 40 year old!! :(
