Feeling over here is he won't

He did look frustrated and somewhat disinterested last night so he might be looking for a transfer. What would happen if the unthinkable happens and Liverpool get relegated, surely the likes of Gerrard, Kuyt, Cole and Torres wouldn't want to play in the Championship

To be honest I can't see the unthinkable happening. But they said that about sheff weds, man city to league 2, and of course nottm forest.?

They would all be off, but Liverpool just wouldn't be able to pay their huge wages anyway. I guess a bigger concern for Hodgson is can he ratain the small core of decent players he has now.

Gerrard must be losing patience, torres looks like he is ready to leave now and Kuyt has already been a target for Rafa.

Henry is going to have to come up with something pretty spectacular if he wants to keep bedt at the club, attract quality and keep pool in the top flight.

Could be tight finish. The teams that were tipped to go down and be easybeats ie blackpool and west brom are doing ok and comp is fairly even. The worry i see for liverpool is the lack of depth and whilst most of the lower clubs will set themselves for a relegation scrap, liverpool will be fighting it out in europe aswell. If injury and fatigue kicks in could be long year. As much as i hate them i dont want to see them go down liverpool v man u are still the matches of the season. Think they will stay up but bottom half and no europe next year.

That lack of depth has been a problem for a long time and some serious questions need to be asked about whats going on behind the scenes in relation to the Academy lads .. We bargain buy kids, spend 2-3 years developing them and then sell them for buggerall.

Im not saying these kids would all become top tier players, but FFS I'd rather seem them on the bench for buggerall $ with their youthful enthusiasm, than see us spending 4 million quid for spuds who sit there and do nothing when they come on.

It's really quite staggering to see just how low they've fallen, and as nice a bloke as Roy is, his comments after the derby scare me even more - He basically suggested we played well and were unlucky, WTF??

Sure it perhaps wasn't our worst performance, but we never looked threatening in attack, whereas the Blues did particularly with their pace edge and willingness to take on the tackler .. The Toff's were always in control of that game and if anything I'd suggest the score flattered us.

Spot on Connie. Depth or rather the lack of it has been a problem for a few seasons now. Lose Gerrard to suspension or injury and Liverpool are ******.

There are just too many mediocre players making the 1st team but that's because there is no one pushing them for a place. 5 years re-building perhaps.

torres looked lost on the weekend and his body language was he didnt want to be there like berbatov with his body language.

Yes i agreed that if gerrard is injured liverpool will be gone. Its only west ham proping them up on goal difference at the bottom of the table. Sad sad times at anfield.

Nando's looked like that a lot in the last 12 months, and I reckon it's a combination of injury and the bull shit style of footy we've been trying to play with him being a one man band up forward .. The tactics and formation we've regularly employed have done him zero favours and would test the patience of most players.

With no Masch or Xabi we dont have the luxury of playing Stevie as a floating link between mid and 2nd striker .. Amazing to think only about 2 seasons ago Torres and Gerrard scored 40+ goals between them.

Those 2 + Reina + Kuyt are decent, but every other player isn't good enough to feature in a title challenging outfit imho (not that we should even be contemplating titles for a long while yet)

This quote from a recent article on sky sports.

Former Liverpool boss Benitez has also taken the time to thank those supporters who were in attendance on Wednesday who unveiled banners praising the job he did at Anfield.

Tonights prediction.

Liverpool 4 - Blackburn 0------------torres with a double...

I'm often wrong, but I'd suggest a loss might get the club searching for a new manager.

Meanwhile. reports suggest a few lads aren't happy with Hodgson.

Liverpool stars including Pepe Reina, Fernando Torres and Glen Johnson want to quit the club in January as morale hits an all-time low.
Manager Roy Hodgson's job is on the line as Liverpool meet Blackburn at Anfield today looking to escape the Premier League's bottom three.
The malaise is so great behind the scenes that even victory is unlikely to persuade the big names to stay under the current regime and new owner John W Henry, who cannot be present due to illness, will watch the game at home.

Players are aghast that Hodgson has put a 68-yearold, Mike Kelly, in charge of first-team coaching. Kelly, a former keeper with Wimbledon, Birmingham and QPR from 1958 and 1976, even takes Reina through his routines, to the Spaniard's disquiet.
Johnson, who could miss the game against Blackburn with a hamstring injury, has performed poorly under Hodgson and is aware Bayern Munich and Juventus are interested.
Most worryingly for Liverpool fans, they were stunned to hear Hodgson link Torres with a move to Manchester United before Wayne Rooney signed his new contract. Torres has failed to score in the last six games - equalling his worst run for the club - and has an awkward relationship with the manager.
There is a feeling the Spaniard is not trying hard enough. Torres decided to stay in the summer after having discussions with Hodgson but he is understood to regret the decision.
Even Steven Gerrard has not been won over yet by Hodgson. The captain has mainly been deployed in a deep role but is likely to get his chance behind Torres today. Liverpool have failed to win any of their last seven games and Hodgson admits that after resting players in the 0-0 draw against Napoli in midweek, there can be no excuses against Blackburn.
Torres, Gerrard, Raul Meireles and Lucas did not travel to Italy while Jamie Carragher and Paul Konchesky were taken off early. Joe Cole, who has struggled to live up to his billing after signing from Chelsea, has admitted morale is so low at the club that any kind of victory would be welcome.
Henry planned to give Hodgson a trial until Christmas before making a decision on his future.
But things are unravelling so fast that defeat today could see them take immediate action.

Strewth .. So would a loss be better for the long term?? Is Martin O'Neill still currently without a job?

Will take a 2-1.
Blackburn lucky to get the goal and not to conceed 6.
Yiros MOM for mine.

Lucas as good as ever

Maxi ok but his finishing is poor.

Shelvey came on as a sub, showed nothing this game but against Napoli he started, gonna be a superstar.

Yep Yiros probably best, although I thought Cole was pretty good .. How nervous did Roy look, almost as nervous as our defenders.

Saw one of the best individual acts from Grella when he booted Lucas in the ribs, would be a far queue of people in line to do that.

A wins a win I guess, but still some fair worries in that outfit, Konchesky is a nightmare imho
