nah DA is in Canada freezing his arse off.

I'll stick up for him. When he's home (well UK home) he's always around to cheer/spurn the Cocks.....

Probably hasn't got or is snowboarding to get to the internet.....

Burnley fan dies of heart attack during Carling Cup semi-final with Tottenham
A Burnley fan died after suffering a suspected heart attack during the team's thrilling Carling Cup semi-final tie against Tottenham.

Kenneth Hartley, 68, collapsed during the final minutes of the match at Turf Moor and could not be revived.

The incident happened eight minutes into the second half of nail-biting extra-time after the home side had gone 3-0 up to level the two-leg tie.

That is sad news. At least he went out with his side heading to Wembley....

It's a little from column A, little from column b on this one.

I'm embarrassed about the nature of our qualification. But if I were Utd, I wouldn't be holding my head up so high after their effort against Derby over the 2 legs.

Anyhoo, I was working while the 2nd leg was being played. Totally gutting to miss it, but I saw the bit that counted for us - the last 3 minutes! After winning in that nature, there was no point getting on here and celebrating.

I'll actually get more live EPL over here than in the UK. When I'm not boarding or working....we'll, probably even when I
m working - pick up a stream and sit back and enjoy!

Who says football insn't emotional. He was with his grand daughter at the time. his wife has said that at least he died happy, thinking his beloved Clarets were on their way to Wembley.

Very sad story.

No way DA would hide under a rock Hoggy. Follows the Clarets as closely as he does the Spurs. Pretty sure Burnley are his 2nd team in the UK so there would have been a bit of mixed emotions.

1st test run today DA for the LC final. Man U v Spurs in the FA Cup. just watched an interview with Arry. Remarkable success rate against Man U in the cup, beat them when he was manager at Bournemouth, West Ham and Porstmouth, including Pompey's run to the finl last year.

Yep, not to be today. Good start, but we were passengers for an hour after they scored. Why on earth weren't the players instructed to throw everything at it in the last minute? Not challenging for some loose balls really pissed me off.

Anyhoo, Utd can have the FA Cup victory.

Hopefully we have a proper side out for the LC final in a few weeks. Something like:

GOMES

CORLUKA...WODGATE...DAWSON...BENNY ASSOU EKOTTO
LENNON...MODRIC...ZOKORA  ...O'HARA
PAV...DEFOE

SUBS
ALNWICK...BALE...BENTLEY...BENT...KING/GUNTER...JENAS

Zokora really shits me, but he's all we've got for the semi DM role, unless King was to play there, which is not an option these days.

Anyway, winning this cup wouldn't be quite as good as it was last year given our league position. that may change if we can pull the finger out and beat Stoke, Bolton and Hull, plus get at least a point off the scum from our next 4 league games, but I'm kidding myself.

We are over our eyeballs in the poo the way we're currently playing and it depresses the shit out of me.

Burnley are to lodge an appeal to the FA over the eligibility of Jermaine Defoe to play in the second leg of the tie at Turf Moor:

http://www.spurscommunity.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=42335

Defoe wasn't a registered Spurs player for the first leg, but appeared in the second leg and scored.

Not sure why they didn't pick this up before the game, but if the rule says he was to be registered for both legs to be eligible play in the second, then the Clarets will probably go through.

This story did come from The Mirror though, so could be BS.

And here is the confirmation

thanks to Skysports

Defoe eligible to play

Football League confirm that Spurs striker was eligible to play

The Football League has confirmed that Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe was eligible to play against Burnley in the Carling Cup semi-final second leg.

The Championship side had questioned whether Defoe, who scored Spurs' second goal at Turf Moor, should even have been allowed on the pitch.

The former Portsmouth ace was not signed in time for the first leg and the Clarets wrote to the Football League to ask if the rule applies to the tie as a whole therefore ruling him out of the second leg as well.

Burnley had raced into a 3-0 lead to level the scores at 4-4 to send the game into extra-time but goals from Roman Pavlyuchenko and Defoe sent Spurs through 6-4 on aggregate in the final minutes of the epic clash.

Dashed
But the Football League has dashed any hopes Owen Coyle's side may have had of reaching the final at Wembley by stating that Defoe was entitled to play.

"Contrary to newspaper reports, the Football League can confirm that Tottenham Hotspur player Jermain Defoe was eligible to play in last Wednesday's Carling Cup semi-final against Burnley," a Football League statement read.

"Defoe had not already appeared in this season's competition having only been a non-playing substitute in Portsmouth's match with Chelsea.

"Additionally there are no rules preventing a player not registered in time for the first leg from playing in the second leg."

I guess if anything, the question should be, if Defoe was a substitute for Portsmouth against Chelsea, does that not constitute playing in so much that he was in the team for the tie?.

Sorry mate!

I hope you're barracking for a Spurs victory - that way you can say the Clarets were put out by eventual winners.

Clutching at straws I know....... but anything is better than having Man USA win a cup.

Not sure I will ever get over that night at Turf Moor mate. Still hurting, still gutted, still p1ssed as f%^k at Redknappe for his shite comments afterwards.
