Anyone know what Nasri didn't play for the French last night, only saw second half, but surprised he not there.

I know he didn't play football ;)

yes Nasri is injured.

Now lets hope if we go 4-0 up this weekend against wolves we can actually win the game...

Seriously how good is Jack Wilshire?? Has the talent like Cesc Fabregas when he was younger. Fantastic player that will be a future England Captian :D

Also Song. Back from injury against wolves and fitted straight back in.

Theo Walcott. I still enjoy watching him play but his descisions can be wrong at times. Still has great pace but needs to think about what he is doing sometimes Its easy for me to say this but its felt through alot of Arsenal supporters

Agreed
He is a bit like Lennon at Spurs. Great pace and gets himself into good positions but the final ball let's him down

i wont be dissapointed if we lose to barca in both legs of the champ league and dont progress.

I want to see Arsenal win everything but if any i would love to see us focus on the league/FA cup and carling . And to ease congestion with fixtures i would like to drop the champ league as i have made it clear before i dont really follow the champ league anyway.

I think you would be on your own there Bully, FA Cup and Carling cup run pretty poor third and fourth compared to the other two, plus you make huge bucks in the CL, which every club needs, I am sure your club didn't budget to get knocked out in Round of 16 of CL. You are just after a trophy, no matter how small, just so Fish and me will shut up about lack of silverware in the Emirates trophy room (if you built one). Sorry couldn't help myself.

in answer to your response, i have stated on numerous occasions that i dont believe in the championsleague at all. Champions mean champions..not 3rd of 4th . Long before you have been around i have been saying this and also stated i didnt watch the 2006 champ final that Arsenal played in as i believe the comp should be for champions not 3rd,4th or 2nd places in these leagues.Yes the money is there but again your forgetting we are not in crippling debt like the other teams around us only for the new stadium that will be paid off in the next 2 years. Unlike Man utd with debts they cant control or getting bailed out by russian/arab billionaires.

Pretty ridiculous comments Bully. You are probably the only Arsenal fan in existence who doesn't watch his team in the Champs League. You might not have the debt that other clubs have but I'd like to see how you would go without the cash. Good luck building the Emirates without it.

Also Arsenal have never won it so I bet the players would love to lift that trophy, knowing you are the best team in Europe is an unbelievable experience.

Agreed love the champions league. Was fortunate to attend 2006 final whilst on holidays and even though i hate arsenal i found myself forking out $400 to watch them. Was lucky enough to be in the barca area and atmosphere was unreal even though it was drizzling rain. Champions league is the pinnacle of club football in europe and id gladly give up the league title to win it

Why not just think of it as the "European Cup" rather then Champions League.

Each to their own but it does seem a bit odd to deprive yourself of some of the worlds best Football purely on the basis of the name of the trophy.

Your lucky. How arsenal did not win that game I don't know. Henry was on fire and should off put Barcelona away in the 70th minute he was just too buggered from all the work he was doing. I've disliked alumina from that day onwards

Bully has a point though. The European Cup was the premier comp when only the champions of each league were entered and it was on a straight knock out basis.

Allowing 2nd, 3rd and 4th placed sides in and having group stages has devalued it as a comp IMO

Most clubs eye the CL for what it is. A means of increasing revenue only. It's media driven as are the celebrations..

I'm sure Liverpool fans look back on their 4 wins when the comp was for champions only and value them higher than their fifth win in recent times.

and is this a major problem for you that i dont follow the champ league and never have?? I have my own thoughts on things and dont need to impress anybody.

Good luck building the emirates without the cash?? So is half the stadium missing or something? ...the stadium is built. will be paid off in a few years. We are not in crippling uncontrolable debt like Man Utd

Where did i say that the Arsenal players would not like lifting the champ trophy?? I said i dont like the comp!

I believe the comp should be for Champions not runners up. Maybe FIFA should look at promoting the lower league champions to the champions league to have a change of teams in there. Im sure Newcastle would have liked to been in the champ league this season after bieng champions of the coca cola league. Or this year maybe QPR in the champions league next season seen as they are doing well. This would improve things in all european leagues instead of having the same old teams year in year out in this league.

Bully, whilst passionate fans such as yourself have this belief about the value of the non champions playing, for every one of you, there are a hundred out there of a very different opinion. Personally with the Spurs, nothing better than the exposure (and money) they have got out of their CL season, even if it ends in round 16. In little old Aus, we get to see the best of the best playing in the CL against the other best players in the world - bring it on I say. Also I think you will find that the Emirates was built with significant public funding.

Bully if you didn't consistently make the Champions League year after year, and received the prize money, gate receipts and sponsorship that come with such a prestigious competition, would you have been able to pay off your stadium so quickly? Or would you have been even able to afford it at all? That is what I meant...

Im not sure mate, you would have to ask the bonafide scousers I suppose .. However the other side to that thought is that these days you have to get passed more teams of exceptionally high quality (and a few minnows).

True but you can lose or draw more than once and still progress.
And let's be honest, most games concerning the Italians are shite and the Germans boring. Not losing is more important than winning and the cheating in European games is so bad there is very little football actually played.

To say that you get to see the best of the best is an exaggeration in the extreme IMO. The lower leagues are far more exciting than most CL games.

i just dont see the need for runners up in the leagues to play championsleague. If FIFA wants big changes in world football maybe they should look at adding the lower league teams that win div 1 or div 2 to have a new experience in the comp and different teams year in year out. Imagine cardiff as an example in the championsleague next year if they won coca cola league? Im sure their fans would not say no to that.

if Man utd/chelsea/arsenal/liverpool/Ac milan/ real madrid/Barca/ Inter milan etc etc are in the champ league year in year out like they are it doesnt do much for new teams trying to make ends meet. It would liven up the comps a bit.

Imagine QPR vs Real madrid???? im sure QPR fans would agree to that?
Imagine Scu.nthorpe vs Ac milan???

Thats my point have some different teams in this league.
