Birmingham, Bolton and Fulham all a chance to drop points aswell though mate, which wouldn't go astray for you given the task of winning at Villa aint the easiest of prospects.

I'd picked that up, but I reckon if we're to start feeling confident about avoiding the drop a draw is imperative at this point.

I have mixed feelings about the Newcastle Fulham result as well. A loss for the Maggies would be fantastic, but that puts Fulham closer to us.....

Fulham's win over Everton came against the form book and has moved them out of the bottom 3 in the forecast.
Newcastle share the spoils with Birmingham in a game Brum really needed to win.

New forecast for relegation

Birmingham
Bolton
Derby

Big wins to Toon, Cats and Royals.
Bad day for Bolton, Fulham and Brum

Toon put one foot in the EPL for next year with that win over Fulham. Fulham's little revival smashed by Viduka
Brum lost at Reading, as the Royals should follow Toon and stay up.

Total predicted points

Wigan 40
Newcastle 35
Reading 34
Sunderland 34
Fulham 32
---------------
Birmingham 30
Bolton 30
Derby

Very important win!
I can't even remember who we played - been away for four days, no one around who was interested in soccer and of course the paper coverage only included talk on the big four games.

ex-Cardiff lad, Michael Chopra, scored the winner for Sunderland which is good to see. I'm hoping they stay up because of Chopra and of course Keano! They have nice colours too.

Good to see us gewtting some value from Chopra.
Newcastle fans would be choking seeing him succeed I think. They didn't rate him too highly.

Must confess I was pretty miffed when we signed him due to his scoring a goal after 18 seconds in the 4-1 loss to the scum a few years ago, and although he's only bagged 4 goals this season I'm reasonably happy with the way he's played.

That was a huge result for us against the Villa and it wasn't on Fox................typical!!

Whisper it but I think we are safe as we have a nice run home playing several of the bottom and mid-table sides. Seen us blow it from similar positions too many times in the past (96/97 springs to mind) to be overly confident though

Chopra has earnt at least two wins, first game of the season and most recently. I'd love him back at Ninian though, apparently Dave Johns made an enquiry to see if Cardiff could loan him for the rest of the season.. you can guess what the answer is after he scored the winner on the weekend ;)
