Should have scored at least 10 I reckon (and no Im not exaggerating).

I think last nights game says more about Newcastle than it does Liverpool ... Still, we have Torres, Keane and Riera to come back into the lineup so we're a chance, although we'd need Man U and Chelsea to fall over a coupla times IMHO and I can't see it happening.

I am currently in Newastle. As the game finished, not since sept 2007 have I seen so many disconsolate people wearing black and white wandering around aimlessly.

You're right CP, Newcastle were absolute pants and Liverpool could easily have scored 10 or more (if not for the absolute class of Shay Given - why on earth is he wasted in Newcastle?). Still 5 goals is a great effort. Keano looked gutted on the bench.

I now see why the Geordies have to pay ridiculous money and wages to attract players. Newcastle is a hole. I cant believe I wasted a day of my holidays coming here. Bagdad would have been nice and I think I would have felt safer too.

Here's the official story.

Thanks to The Daily Mail

Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard arrested over alleged nightclub assault

Gerrard's arrest was just a few hours after he capped a fine display against Newcastle with two goals in Liverpool's 5-1 victory
The alleged victim of a nightclub brawl for which footballer Steven Gerrard was arrested is a DJ there, police sources confirmed today.
The Liverpool and England star remains in police custody after the 34-year-old Southport man was taken to hospital with facial injuries.
Sources confirmed the man was an employee of the Lounge Inn, in Southport, Merseyside, where the midfielder and five other men were arrested on suspicion of assault in the early hours of today.
One report claimed the DJ had been attacked when he refused to play a certain record.

IMO Liverpool might have just enough quality to beat the other 3 powerhouse sides, especially hope manchester united fall into a hole with berbatov playing too loose.

If we play like we did against Newcastle, we have every chance of beating them and finishing top of the league for the first time in ages.

Naturally I hope you boys are right, but to be honest ME, you really can't read anything into that win against Newcastle, they were the worst opposition I can recall watching us playing against.

For Man U and Chelsea to have been playing well below par and only be 1 win off the pace, I still think one of them is the likely winners ... Usually when you hit the business end of the season if you're still in touch and know what it takes to win the league, you're a better prospect than anyone else to do just that.

Liverpool are no chance of winning the league they don't have the depth of Manchester United. Bus you need to worry about West Ham trying to stay in the premier league.

Bus your playing with yourself Manchester are the team to beat. They are still two games behind Liverpool and if they happen to win both of those matches they will only be a point of the pace. Don't forget Manchester have got all the top sides to play at Old Trafford still. The Devs have alot of improving to do they are playing poor football at the moment and are still getting the points on the board, look out for a big 09.

Yeah that Berbatov, what a dud. Only scored the winner this morning.

Pity your captain will spend the rest of the season behind bars. ;)

Also, MightyEagles... Newcastle are struggling this season and had a pretty weak side when you flogged them the other day. That performance doesn't really mean much except 3 points. You won't be allowed to play like you did against them in many more games this season.

If Manchester can beat Chelsea on the weekend lookout Liverpool. Manchester starting to play themselves into a bit of form good win against Southampton in the F.A Cup, should destroy Derby in the Carling Cup tonight. Let's be honest Chelsea are playing garbage at the moment.
