Unfortunately Alonso will not be at Liverpool next season and wishes to move back to Spain. The obvious destination will be Real Madrid. This will also help Liverpool in a way as it will give us more money for transfers. Along with Alonso (£25M) the departures will be Voronin (£3M), Itandje (£0.5M), Degen (£2M), Leto(£3M), Hobbs(0.5M) and finally Babel(10M) who will go to Atletico Madrid and a friendly will be arranged as part of the deal.
That gives Liverpool 44M plus 10M from the Keane deal is a total of 54M
Rafa will buy 2 big signings this summer as he doesn't want a repeat like what happened to Houllier. Plus 2 medium name signings and 1 small name signing. The small name signing will be a young CB replacement for the Legend Hyypia and this will be Mathias Jørgensen for £2M. The two medium signings are both english and both play in the Premier league. One is Gareth Barry who will replace Alonso nad the other is Glen Johnson who will both sign for £10M each. The two big signings will be David Silva (£20M) who Rafa admires a lot and will go higher then the original £15M to sign him and the other will be a transfer record for Liverpool but isn't Tevez (Stay at Manc) or Aguero. It is actually Ezequiel Lavezzi who will sign for £22M. The only reason i can see that Rafa prefers him to Aguero is because of his versatility as he can play as a left or right winger and as a striker or secong striker. A total spend of £64M which leaves £10M from the owners to cough up. Lavezzi will play up front with Torres in a 4–1–3–2 formation with Masherano holding on his own and then gerrard dropping into CM and having Silva on the Left and Kuyt on the right. However this formation will change for more important games which Rafa will have the original 4–2–3–1 with Masherano and Barry holding, Gerrad behind Torres with Silva on the left and Lavezzi on the right who will bring strength, skill and pace to the wing. Also Lavezzi can play behind Torres in that formation as can Silva which will give us backup for injuries to our main two players. Lavezzi can also play up front with gerrad or Silva behind him if Torres is injured. Although i wasn't sure about these signings at first they actually make sense and fit in to our current squad. Again Rafa the tactical genius has got it right again.

How does this bloke know that all of these trades 'will' happen? He's already WAY off the pace with Barry not signing and why would Real Madrid still want to pay 25m quid for Barry when they've just forked out 65m euros for Kaka?

Don't mean to shoot you down CP, but IMO, all of this is tripe.

Not shooting me at all mate, most of the rumours I see and/or post will be tripe lol, including those from supposedly reputable media sources

Citeh's team is starting to look reasonable. They still won't be a threat unless they can learn how to win away from (middle)eastlands.

GBP100k per week....how wide of the mark was I:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1190654/Barry-Premier-Leagues-big-earners-Villa-City.html?ITO=1490

Gareth Barry's £6.7million a year Manchester City payday puts the 28-year-old among the Premier League's big earners.

The midfielder will earn £130,000-a-week following his £12m move from Aston Villa - just £14,000 less than the average house price in the north-west.

Barry's new pay packet will be nearly six times that of the average top flight footballer, who earns £23,000 a week (£1.2m a year) before tax.

That's just retarded. No wonder he signed. That's stupid money.

Way too much for a player of his quality imo.

Stupid isn't it. He is not even a regular player for England. So much for him wanting to play at a higher level.

Didn't put this on the official Transfer list Johnnyboy as I'm not sure if it counts, but I read this morning that Steve Bruce has left Wigan and signed a 3 yr gaffer deal with Sunderland.

Lucas Neill is leaving Wt Spam:

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5361713,00.html

West Ham United have confirmed that captain Lucas Neill will be leaving the club after rejecting their contract offer.

A statement on the club's official website confirms the inevitable departure, as Neill is not included on the list of retained players for the 2009/10 season.

The Australian rejected a one-year extension to his current deal, which has now expired.

The club claim to have made him a significant offer, which has officially been rejected and the full-back can speak to other clubs.

The 31-year-old is expected to attract interest from other clubs, including Manchester City, and West Ham have wished him well after two-and-a-half years service at Upton Park.

If he goes there, he'll lose whatever respect he has left.
Personally, I'd rather see him link up with Harry in Turkey.

City close on £32m Tevez
Carlos Tevez will be the next to join Manchester City - unless neighbours United salvage a deal today. The Argentine striker's advisor Kia Joorabchian is due to meet with Old Trafford chief executive David Gill. The pair will discuss the possibility of United paying a further £25.5million to turn Tevez's two-year loan into a permanent move. However, Joorabchian has already thrashed out a possible £32m transfer to Eastlands. Tevez, 25, has had his head turned by the offer of a staggering £140,000- a-week wages from City. Money is no object, with City's Arab owner Sheikh Mansour banking another £1.5bn by selling some Barclays shares last night.
Martin Blackburn, The Sun

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo is still a Real Madrid target - despite their world-record splash for Kaka. Real president Florentino Perez is on the verge of spending £62m on Brazilian superstar Kaka. But he insists the £75m it could take to capture Ronaldo from United remains good value for money.

**** me imagine if Real could some how snag both Kaka and Ronaldo, will not happen though. Would be gutted to see Tevez at city let's hope United can work something out.

Real don't need Kaka or Ronaldo when they have Pennant.

Madrid, Spain: Reports in the Spanish capital have confirmed that Real Madrid have finally got their man for £30 million and bonuses depending on the trophies he collects during his time at the Bernabeu. Florentino Pérez has finally signed their prime target on a monthly salary of £130,000 excluding image rights.

Pennant's £6.7 million move to Liverpool in 2006 proved to be something of a redemption for a young player that had gone off the rails during his early career. At Liverpool the former Arsenal starlet had proved his worth and gained reputation as the best right winger in the Premier League. One Liverpool fan spoke to Marca and said, "I'm happy for the lad. We had a poll on one of our forums and we agreed unanimously that Pennant is better than Ronaldo. We wish him all the success at Real."

The Englishman has a scoring record of 3 goals in 55 games for the Reds, unrivaled by his countrymen and the transfer is expected to be a shirt-sales market coup as Madrid looks to fill in the void left by another Englishman - David Beckham.

The magical winger will put pen on paper provided he passes a fitness test at the Bernabeu this Friday. Perez is quoted to have said "This will be the key signing that will usher in a new Galactico era. Who wouldn't want to play along side such a great player and be a part of history." The Castile press has reported wild festive celebrations by Madrid fans and slogans of "Hala Madrid" and "Viva la Jermaine" are deafening.

Reports have also indicated that two young men and a woman have been injured during the festivities but the injuries sustained are minor as the world awaits the Galactico's landing at the Barajas International Airport in Madrid.

They did it before though remember with the Galacticos squad that won a CL title and a Spanish League title and that's about it. For coin invested compared to return, you'd have to say that was a huuuuge waste of money. they did play some attractive football at the time though.

Their problem IMO was the chopping and changing of managers. They've had 12 managers in the last 10 years. Their recipe for 'success' - Manager wins a title....SACK HIM. Manager wins a CL....SACK HIM. Good luck to whoever takes over this year, they'll need it.

The problem is they (both fans and the board/el Presidente) want sexy football. Real won a title and then sacked the manager because their style of play wasn't attractive enough.

Correctamondo. And he is getting a £50m treasure chest for recruits from the new owners.

So his 1st target. £10m for Bent from Spurs

can't wait until he leaves West Ham, Neill is very good at international level but struggles when playing for West Ham, doesn't really make sense does it  Will look forward in watching Zola put more game time into Tomkins.

The only way Lucas Neill could get any respect back would be to forfeit $lutting himself off to any club that shows an interest in upping his salary and coming back to help promote the A-league. The efforts of him and Viduka (and Harry at Liverpool) havent given Aussie footballers the greatest of reps over the past few years. At least Timmy Cahill appears to be committed to Everton and not just whoring himself out at any opportunity.

  WOW, really? Got a source for that one Bully?

That must be the shortest stint as manager in the history of the game. He must have been at the Black Cats for about 6 days.
