Sad news indeed, I think 19 other clubs back line has just rested easy.

Our defence will rest a little easier, always scored against us.
Big loss, one of the best strikers going around, always scores in the big matches. Will be very hard to replace no matter how much money they have. Dont blame him though, wants more time on the park.
Who knows may get to see him in Adelaide one day in the ACL

Swings and roundabouts mate, thats the beauty of soccer. The Chavs were unlucky not to beat us in Moscow, they were the better side and only lost because Terry slipped on his ass. Also a few years back the Chavs were robbed in the semi against Barca by some of the most blatant cheating by refs ive ever seen.
You need luck to win the CL and i wouldnt begrudge Chavski from winning this season.
No reason they cant go on with it, United played 3 finals in 4 years and i think the Chavs have just as good a squad

Fair call .. There was also the Garcia did it/didn't it cross the line goal in the Semi in 2005 they were probably a bit stiff with also.

They have consistently been a CL threat and were due a slice of luck, as all teams need to lift big ears

It's ok Jim, just let bully have a shoot of taking the wind out of our sails. I DONT CARE, I KNOW WE GOT LUCKY BUT WE WON THE THING. In terms of the of the premier league will have to wait to see who our next manager is and which players we keep, sell and buy before I make a call.

Bully will tell me how great it is to finish from 2-4 because you qualify for Champions League but it doesn't actually count unless you win the thing, but then again Arsenal are getting use to not winning things.

everyone has their opinion, mine is you spent millions to actually get somewhere in life for Chelsea FC, but again, you will go on and on about how im wrong and you didnt buy the EPL and what you have won since the silver spooner came into power, but im sure you send a 4000 page document on how you didnt buy what you have won as usual.....so
yawn..........

but i promised i would never bring this up again....opps :D

Unfortunately its gone down that track Bully, we have to get used to and try to do our best.
Shiteh and Chavs have got unlimited funds and ive even heard rumours that Glazer has given United up to £150m to spend in the transfer period, when you think we have only spent £450 in the 20 years since the EPL started it just shows how desperate things are. Maybe it will all come crashing down one day but the days of a Nottingham Forest or Villa CL are long gone as it the realistic chance of a small club winning the EPL

Your the one who keeps bringing this ******* topic up.

The last time and I do mean last time I am gonna say this

I have never said we didn't buy the title. My point was always that had won things without the riches of Roman. I have also stated that money can buy you players it can not buy you titles but seeing as that doesn't seem to comprehend, I had to put it in simpler terms, now learn to read and do not put words in mouth, drop the topic and in the non written but said words of jesus christ..F**k off.

now go piss off DA instead.

Rumours that Di Matteo will be sacked this week because Abramovich isnt convinced he is a world class manager :?
Huge mistake IMO, the players love playing for him.
Look at all the other so called world class managers that have come and done stuff all

Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa were not 'small' clubs when they won the European Cup (twice in Forest's case).

In fact in that era you actually had to be Champions of your league the previous year (or the Cup holders) to compete in it. Finishing second, third or fourth on the table was not good enough.

I still consider Villa and Forest 'big' clubs. While their recent results haven't been in keeping with their history, they're massive parts of world football IMO.

Definately not small clubs in England but they were in Europe standards, both were considered no chance of winning their first Cup and Nottingham Forest were basically unheard of on the continent, you have to remember only 2 years earlier they were playing div 2 football. I believe Forest are still the only club to have more European Cups than League Titles.
My main point is that i dont think you will see a club bolt from the blue and win a CL at first attempt anymore, all the recent years have contained the same 8-10 big clubs in the last 16 with it pretty much guaranteed that a super club will win it. Porto will probably be the last to buck the trend for a long time

I think what gives people the shits about Chelsea "buying" EPL titles more than say a Man Utd is that Man U have built their empire on success and through the club "earning" the billions they bring in. A combination of performance and brilliant markerting has made them as powerful as they are now.

Unlike the Chelsea FC where lets be honest they were fairly ordinary (on the scheme of great clubs in the world) until 1 man came in and 1 man was willing to spend his OWN (not money earnt buy Chelsea FC) dollars. The Chelsea FC didnt bring in the billions they spent on players one man pays for this. If he had chosen to put his money in Aston Villa than no one would be talking about Chelsea.

Thats the impression i get anyway.

Best comparison i can make is in the SANFL, Centrals are on their dominant streak, most non fans are sick of it but most of the non fans have respect for what they have achieved.

Now take the AFL and say Gold Coast go on a golden dynasty people are just going to talk about all the concession they were given on entry, they should be winning etc etc!

I think the differance with United is that even though we have spent money when we needed to most of our titles in the 90's and early 2000's were won with a fair proportion of kids bought up from youth team. Fergie's fledglings was an awesome crop and by all reports we have a decent crop coming through now. You look at Shiteh and they would be lucky to have a player who has been promoted through the ranks. Chavski have built a decent side and still have players who have been there for years unlike the mercenaries at Shiteh who will be gone when a better offer comes along.

Yep and the money United spent was money had the club had earnt through marketing, promotion, success the young players brought. On the other hand the money Chelsea has spent is purely one bloke opening his wallet.

I have no issue with it and i think the game is going to head down that path further BUT i do find amongst alot of football fans Chelsea achievements are looked at with a meh!

The same can be said about Citeh winning the EPL as well. I dont think the achievement has received as much glory and press over here because of the Arabs owning them etc etc Apart from the finish not much would has been made of it.
