They went back to top after winning a '6 pointer' over Cardiff last night. Shocking conditions at St Andrews, it was pissing with rain and the pitch was a mess, didn't make for a pretty game but the Blues grabbed yet another 1-0 win.

Wednesday beat Leeds 3-2 after leading 3-0. The 2nd goal by Wednesday is absolutely incredible, you must see this. (Their 3rd goal isn't bad either).

Another away win to Derby at Norwich. The Rams have had a real makeover this season - million pound signing David Jones from Man Utd scored twice and is having a big impact. Anyone who saw the goal 18 yo Giles Barnes scored the other week against Sunderland would know that he is a very promising talent - better get promoted before he gets sold!

Friday's game is huge. A win to either side would make automatic promotion a very likely outcome.

A 2- 0 win over Barnsley for the Black Cats. Pressure well and truly still on.
We've two games at Stadium of Light this week against sides ranked well lower.

Lookin good. Derby should be looking back at us nervously right now.

Wolves moved up to fourth win their sixth win in a row, 1-0 over that West Brom scum.
5 pts from the top.

Gonna be 3 of 5 from the big city clubs,

Birmingham look a certainty with games in hand
Sunderland turned it around and playing with confidence. Great job by Keane
The Rams as long as they have staying power
Wolves another team that needs to go the distance. Fallen away in the past
West Brom another yo yo side with a £10m sweetner for coming down from the prem.

Think can forget the rest, as fan power gives the clubs spending power.

Preston had their chance for last couple of years. Have to sell to finance the club and only a fan base of around 13,000 (no where near enough)
Cardiff a one man team. If Chopra is on form they can win but without him they have nothing much to offer
Stoke City, sold most of their best players during the window and have no direction at board level

Dark Horses
Southampton may just sneak a play off berth but need to get some consistency.

As for the permiership, Man U fans should be buying the bubbly now. Can't see Chelski catching them. Too many injuries and trouble at the top with Roman and Jose apparently falling out.

IMHO

PS from another thread, follow Burnley in the UK. When I first started watching them they played in a claret guernsey with a sky blue Vee. Must be something about the V :?: I guess

Streuth! That would be the mid to late 70's! Would have just sold Ray Hankin, Leighton James and Martin Dobson and just about to go down the tubes. The early to mid 70's was a great period for Burnley.

Just lost at home to Colchester. Can still sneak a spot the way results are going, but not on that form.

Well well, were are nearly there. Lets look at the predictions from way back when.

Birmingham PROMOTED
Sunderland PROMOTED

Derby, couldn't stay the distance PLAY OFF'S

Wolves hanging on to a PLAYOFF berth
WBA hanging on to a PLAYOFF berth

Preston. Had their chances last two years. NON RUNNER
Cardiff. One man team and when Chopra got injured so did their promotions chances. NON RUNNER
Stoke No directions  OK  but still NON RUNNER

Southampton. Outside bet if they get consistent PLAY OFF'S

As it stands play off's would be Derby v Southampton and WBA v Wolves. With the Rams current form I would fancy Southampton to make the finals. The other gaem is a lottery especially with the local rivalry that goes with it. Wolves have shown a lot of bottle lately, when in other years they have just fallen away. Unlucky going down 3 -2 against Birmingham last week and shold have got a draw if McIndoe hadn't missed a penalty. Bounced back with a good win this week. WBA went down to the Clarets on Monday after being 2 - 0 up inside 10 minutes, went on to lose 3 - 2. IMO they move the ball around well and are fast to man up but they didn't look that special. Will miss influencial Curtis Davies so I would tip Wolves to scrap home.

In the final Wolves would be nervous, expectations etc, and Soton would b bouyed up by the fact that until this week they weren't in the playoff's at all. Will be close but sticking my neck out, Southampton to get promoted.

Of course it could all change come next Saturday.

(Waiting for the proverbial egg on my face for opening my big mouth a week too soon.)

Oh and MAn U fans should have already bought the bubbly if they listened to me
