2 cracking goals. 1st against the run of play Shevchenko, 2nd Wright Phillips
15 minutes left, think it's goodnight Vienna to Spurs.

Probably one of the best players in the EPL. Shame about his diving antics.

Spurs 1 - 2 Chelski. Typical Chelski tactics in last 10 minutes.

Chelski v b4st4rds SF. This is the worst semi final I could imagine

Spurs fan just ran on pitch and smacked Lampard. More bad news for Spurs as may suffer at the hands of the FA.

Far out!!!! Lampard copping it? Serious?!!! That's very poor form!

Very disappointed about the Spurs result

Would like to have seen Boro win and Dukes score - not to be. Agree RE: Ronaldo - the guy is a freak. Wouldn't want to be a defender against MU!

We get very little live EPL over hear in Aus. There are 4-5 live EPL games on pay TV plus a couple of Serie A, La Liga replays. This is good if you've got Foctel (paytv), but for us peasants it's champions league only (We get 2 live champoins league matches per round).

Fortunately for me, I'm moving to the UK in 8 weeks for a couple of years, so I'll be able to keep up with everything much easier!

JTC - Just on that, where would you recommend I try to find accomodation around London? I've been told to look west around Ealing/Acton/Fulham etc. I'd like to stay below 220 quid per week and avoid the dodgy areas so my wife can feel safe walking to and from the tube. (Sorry for putting this on the Football thread - perhaps PM me?)

Apologies on behalf of EPL for that one C_P. So bad I turned it off and watched re-runs of M*A*S*H*. Much better veiwing.

Just as a side issue, how much soccer do you guys get down there. When I was last there, you were lucky to get the pools results let alone live games. Only the FA Cup final was live.

Yeah I must admit I headed over to watch the Aussies v Netherland World Cup match a few times, although that wasn't really any better ... Ended up watching some B Grade movie with some pretty tidy skimpy's! :D

Don't get any soccer/football on Free To Air television other than SBS CL Coverage and weekly wrap show ... Get 3 EPL games (1 from each time slot) on Foxtel plus midweek matches, and CL coverage on ESPN.

If you follow Man U you are well looked after by the Pay TV coverage, and considering their following thats understandable, but Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea fans don't receive a bad run either (really only miss their games when not playing in a blockbuster and scheduled at same time as Man U games).

Well said JTC ... I'd think the guy is up there with the best in the World, so it's unfortunate that he feels the need to dive so often (and let's face it, he goes down quicker than a $2 hooker) ... He's talented enough to make even the best defenders look silly and doesn't need to rely on going down unnecessarily!!

Going to London intially, but will travel wherever people are willing to pay me to sit and read (and put garbage up on) this forum!

Probably base myself in Western London at this stage. I'm hoping to work for a top 100 UK or international company.

his speed is awesome. Watched him single handedly demolish Bolton on Saturday. his goal was superb.Collected the ball on the 1/2 way line and rocketed into the Bolton box to score. Unbelievable. His partnership with Rooney will win the title this year. Can only see Man U getting better, Ferguson is a great manager. Wish he was at Burnley :)

Saw the incident last night. Very ordinary. Security should have been onto it quicker IMO. Lucky no damage was done. It's a bizzare thing to do actually, as you'd assume that the Spurs fan is an England supporter. So why would he risk injury to one of the national sides best players?

Shevchenko's goal was AMAZING!

Don't think national allegiance came into it DA.. Maybe a bit different over here, (although I doubt it), but club alleigance ranks far higher than country. Very emotional night, Spurs so unlucky in the 1st round, and that must have left a bitter taste, and with Chelski's time wasting tactics and the fact that their goals came against the run of play must have been one step too far.
Don't misunderstand me, I don't condone that kind of behaviour from any fan, no matter how frustrated they are, however not everyone can contain themselves

Agree also JTC .. Given Rooney's season would be deemed by most to be below par for a player of his ability (not his own doing, injury played a fair hand in that) I think he has a break out (Ronaldo style) season up his sleeve also, so it's scary to think about how much better they can get ... If they were to add a top shelf midfielder (like Kaka) and throw in a better keeper (say Buffon) how ridiculously good would their lineup look!!

Not a fan of Man U C_P but you have got to admire them. Written off a couple of years ago, Ferguson is soooooooo shrewd, got Ronaldo on the cheap in todays market, and would be sure to say, he had Rooney in mind when he bougth him.
Keeper has been a sticky slot for years, for them, steming back to the retirement of Schmickle (Sorry about the spelling). Don't really underestand the difficulty here, as Foster, Robinson, Martin would all be available if Man U came knocking. Foster might be a good punt from Watford. England number 2 will surely leave Watford when they get relegated.

Same goes for the midfield. Not really recovered from the loss of Keane. Scholes getting past it and Butt gone to Newcastle, left a gap not yet filled. Carrick may well be the one given another year.

Think they need to look at the back four. Look pretty solid and some good young talent coming through the ranks but Vidic is a bit of a liablility. Shame that Stam couldn't keep his thoughts to himself.

Foster is on loan at Watford from Man Utd isn't he? He hasn't played against them in the league and he won't play against them in the FA Cup semi.
Rooney has been a bit below par but he does add a lot to the line up, he creates a lot of goals and is now finding form, he has scored quite a few recently.
Ronaldo is the best player in the world on current form, he is a joy to watch and rarely has a quiet form. He needs to pick it up a bit in Europe if United are to win the Champs League though, hopefully he can start by dominating the Roma tie.

What makes you think Vidic is a liability? He has been wonderful this season, his first bad game was probably at Fulham but he has been a terrific signing and works very well with Rio. He has also chipped in with important goals.. the way he attacks the ball with his head from a corner or free kick is great for a defender and a lot of strikers around the world could learn a thing or two.

Would struggle to see how Ronaldo walks after the hacking that he receives during a game. No wonder the bloke falls over occasionally!!!

Pretty sure he is Marty, so they have got good coverage ... I just think if you get a Cech, Buffon, Dida type in there they look damn impossible to get past - back to the Schmeical (sp??) days as JTC said.

As a Liverpool fan I can't be a fan of our arch rivals, but as with the Port Magpies in the SANFL you can certainly respect them and can't knock their success ... Fergy is an absolute master, the type that should never be written off else it will come back to bite on the arse!

I've always liked Carrick, but I don't think he's reached the level Man U would have been hoping for just yet, and I think they will be nervous about putting an over reliance on his young shoulders next season, so would expect to see some midfiled bolstering in the next transfer window.
