They have a very good workmanlike squad, but other than Stevie G there is no player of the highest quality and I think that showed at times in all comps this year.

Sure they can still make their bargin buys, but you generally get what you pay for, and they need to target 2 "top shelf" types imho.

Sit tight CP. My mail from family and friends on Merseyside is Rafa will be spending some big coin. The following have all been linked to LFC;

Tevez
Simao Sabrosa
David Villa
Fernando Torres
Florent Malouda
David Silva
Daniel Alves
Samuel E'to
Michael Owen
Mancini
Darren Bent

Would be nice to see Owen in a reds top again.

As he was coming off the bench for relegated Charlton, scoring only 2 goals, I'd say his goalscoring days are numbered.

What is the fans reaction to this JTC? I think I have read somewhere that the last time they tried this the fans shot them down in flames.

Any news of the Player movements

Fans won't be happy heater31. Tradition etc etc. News is that the Kirkby Planning Committee have already approved the staduim, and the public consultation will give everyone a chance to aire their views, however, this must be views on the effects the staduim will have in Kirkby, so any fans just going along to complain about the club moving from Goodison, will not be accepted.
It will depend on how the locals react.

Only news I have seen upto now is their interest in Sheff U Jagielka. He got a call up last week in the England B team that played Albania. Sheff U denying Jagielka is going anywhere, but truth is that if he wants to go, then Everton will get their man.

Also offered £3m for Sheffield Weds defender Frankie Simek.

As soon as I get any TRN3. The big news out of Birmingham is financial rather than players. Chairman has already issued profit warning for last year saying the club will make a net loss. also on the news yesterday that whilst Birmingham will earn around £60m ($120m) from the promotion, they will still struggle and will be relegation favourites.

Nice start. Sure the fans will appreciate the chairmans 'upbeat' attitude.

Claudio Ranieri - linked with the jobs at Man city and Hearts. I think he wont go to hearts. Man city would have to be the best bet, as he also has stated in the past that he wants to return to the EPL

No doubt he will be at City WSC. Only waiting for take over by Thaksin Shinawatra. Don't think you will here any more news until this happens.

Just announced this minute, Ranieri has resigned from Parma. They have accepted his resignation making him a free agent.

Charlton striker Darren Bent will snub a bumper £60,000-a-week deal from West Ham to sign for London rivals Tottenham

And that could prompt Hammers boss Alan Curbishley to turn his attentions to Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe.

That might not be it for the Hammers, who also want to sign Everton duo Andy Johnson and Mikel Arteta in a £30m move.

Manchester United are set to beat Arsenal, Liverpool, Bolton, Valencia and Real Madrid to the signing of Barcelona's Argentine striker Javier Saviola, for a cut-price £7m.

Arsenal striker Thierry Henry will finally put an end to his stay in London and join Barcelona for £15m, say club insiders.

Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate will make a £2.5m offer to Portsmouth for midfielder Sean Davis after missing out on Scott Brown and Joey Barton.

Portsmouth striker Kanu is wanted by Dutch side PSV Eindhoven and Osasuna of Spain.

Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce is making a shock move for Turkey's World Cup winger Gokdeniz Karadeniz, 27, who plays for Trabzonspor.

Manchester City midfielder Joey Barton has spoken publicly about his desire to leave the club, with Newcastle keeping an eye on his situation.

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez wants £35m to spend on Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o.

Sheffield United will step up their interest in Manchester United winger Kieran Richardson following their double swoop for Nani and Anderson.

Aston Villa and Everton are keen to raid Wolves for Michael Kightly after the £3m-rated wonderkid admitted he would consider leaving Molineux.

Wigan boss Chris Hutchings is making a £2m move to sign exciting Sheffield Wednesday youngster Chris Brunt.

Sunderland have abandoned plans to sign Villarreal's former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan after being told he would cost £18m.

West Ham and Portsmouth are keeping tabs on Reading winger Stephen Hunt, who only has a year left on his contract with the Royals.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will fend off interest from Tottenham by offering Alan Smith a new contract.

Tottenham's search for a left-winger has prompted them to make moves for Liverpool's Harry Kewell and Martin Petrov.

With Arsene Wenger's future at Arsenal still uncertain, Tomas Rosicky could be the first big-name exit from the Emirates Stadium, with Atletico Madrid keen to sign him.

Chelsea winger Arjen Robben could yet join Bayern Munich this summer, despite insisting he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge, as he has yet to agree a new deal with the Blues.

Derby boss Billy Davies wants to celebrate promotion to the Premiership by signing Matthew Etherington from West Ham for £2m.

Liverpool are in talks with Juventus about selling midfielder Momo Sissoko to the Turin club for £12m.
Rangers boss Walter Smith is set to swoop for Scotland and West Ham midfielder Nigel Quashie.

Reading are the latest club to show an interest in Celtic flop Thomas Gravesen.

Former Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein will be offered a role at Newcastle, should billionaire Mike Ashley's attempted takeover of the club prove successful.

Manchester City chairman John Wardle could make Graeme Souness the club's new manager amid fears that Thaksin Shinawatra's attempted £90m takeover has hit a stumbling block.
And Claudio Ranieri, who has also been linked with the City job, is being targeted by Juventus as a successor to coach Didier Deschamps.

Liverpool fans have been condemned as the worst in Europe in a scathing Uefa report, following crowd problems at the recent Champions League final against AC Milan.

Not one player at Chelsea, one of the richest football clubs in the world, agreed to contribute any of their wages to the May Day For Nurses campaign, where footballers are asked to give a day's wages to hard-up Nurses. Of all the 556 Premiership players asked to help with the scheme, only 225 contributed.

Thanks Smithy. Saved a bit of time re-typinig it. :)

WHU seem to linked with a lot of big bucks transfers.

£30m for Johnson and Arteta?
£7m for Taylor
£X fro Defoe. He came from WH so might not be too fanciful.

Have you been keeping an eye on the Sheff U reistatement debacle?
And the Leeds in administration saga?

Ken Bates has offered the creditors 1 penny for every £pound od debt. Or he will pull out. I heard a late bid has come in offering 40 pence in the pound but it might be too late.

Also saw that Abramovich has said the cheque book ain't coming out this year. Spent £7m and got one on a free from Bayern.

Trouble with Chelski, they pay bg bucks (over the top prices) and then sell on the failures at a knock down price. Look at Duff that went to Newcastle. Paid £18m for him from b4st4rds and sold him for £5m. Great bit of business that.

There is so much money in the EPL theses days it's obscene.

How much have Man U been throwing around this season??

They have signed Hargraves, Nani & Anderson, and look set to sign to Saviola ... Still remain linked with players like Owen also.

The difference between Man U and Chelski is the shrewdness of Sir Alex .. He has been the best buyer and seller in the comp for years!

Interesting to read that AC Milan Gaffer Ancelotti reckons they have a HUGE player who wants to play for them and will do so if the contract can be sorted ... He said something like the "Sky would fall down" or "The world would end" if he revealed who it was.

Given he's chasing a striker and midfielder, I wonder if it's Lampard (although he is keen on Henry and Drogba also apparently).

I think Nani and Anderson are reasonably cheap and Saviola is out of contract so could come as a free? The would be a number of other clubs who will attempt to get Saviola I'd imagine.
