Some good news for liverpool fans at last..............assuming it's not all spin?

Liverpool chief reveals: New investors are on the way and we will never sell star pair Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard

Liverpool managing director Christian Purslow has insisted the club could have investors within the next few months, and they will have never have to sell their top stars Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard.
Liverpool supporters have so far endured a miserable season, but will surely be heartened by news of possible new investment.
Purslow revealed he is deep into the process of whittling down interested parties - and if successful that could involve part ownership with current American joint club owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett, or possibly sombody buying them out

After getting tipped out of the FA Cup, hopefully what will turn out to be good news in the signing of Maxi Rodriguez from Atletico Madrid on a free transfer. I'm not sure how an Argentinian who has averaged a goal every 3 to 4 games over his entire career, including when representing Albicelestes, comes on a free, but hey we'll take him! The more the merrier at the moment! Apparently he could be available to start this weekend.

Quite possibly Johnny. You always hear about most contracts finishing at the end of the season, which is why clubs are keen to sell in January and get something for them, but I guess that's not always the case. Initial reports were that they were talking 1.5m quid for him, but now it's free. In any case, a good bit of business methinks!

The Liverpoo v Spurs game has been rescheduled to Wed Jan 20 (weather and bitching, complaining scousers permitting ;) ).

Liverpool have injury worries with Torres (knee), Gerrard (Hammy), Benayoun (ribs) and Mascherano (knee) all below full fitness.

Spurs have Lennon, Benny Assout Ekotto and Woodgate out, plus the usual fitness concerns over Ledley.

IMO, this is the perfect time for a trip to Anfield, providing the scousers don't go and do something silly like sack Rafa.

Pumped too, as my HD Foxtel is being connected on Jan 19, so I'll be watching live in full HD on my brand spanking 50 inch plasma!! COME ON YOU SPURS!

Well done Reading, thoroughly deserved the win.
Liverpool lacked that killer punch in front of goal and creativity going forward.
Oh, and Lucas missed a header from 4 yards out with 1 minute to play, nothing unusual about that other than it will guarantee his spot in the side for the next 10 games.

He was offside though, so it wouldn't have counted. But your point stands - tits on a bull.

Spurs Reserve Squad: (assuming everyone is fully fit)

Carlo Cudicini (injured though, so say Jimmy Walker)

Alan Hutton Michael Dawson Sebastion Bassong Gareth Bale

David Bentley Jermaine Jenas Tom Huddlestone Giovanni Dos Santos

Roman Pavlyuchenko Robbie Keane

Fair Reserves Squad!!!

And just to prove this isn't BS, First team:

Gomes

Corluka King Woodgate Assou Ekotto
Lennon Modric Palacios Kranjcar
Crouch Defoe

The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

Good point that Connie.

He was out for most of his time at the Galactico too. He has never been the same since he left Leeds

Not the news Liverpool fans want to hear but.....

TREBLE INJURY BLOW FOR LIVERPOOL

Liverpool's hopes of salvaging their season have suffered a serious setback with key trio Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres and Yossi Benayoun all being sidelined.

The club confirmed the three players, all injured in Wednesday's night's humiliating FA Cup loss to Reading, will be out for varying lengths of time up to six weeks.

Star striker Torres is the worst affected, ruled out until the end of February with a torn knee cartilage that will require surgery.

Inspirational captain Gerrard is out for a fortnight with a torn hamstring while Benayoun has fractured a rib and will not play again for around four weeks

What is it with Torres. Great goal getter but ffs, he's had more time off work then Sicknote
