2nd is first place loser and mean's you won the same amount as every other team that wasn't there nothing! It's something I had to deal with after last year final and its not a great feeling but its the truth as much as it hurts.
The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

Anyone else on here pick the hypocrisey of the FFA, FIFA et al when last nights final is played on an oval field - like Footy Park(athletics track around it so the crowd is removed from the action), the stands sweep back on a low angle (like Footy park) and the stadium is located more than 5 km away from the centre of the city - like Footy Park.

Why do we need a new soccer stadium when we have a perfectly good Footy one???

What a great result.

Must admit, I was surprised by the scoreline as I didn't think Barca could keep a clean sheet...

...but not half as surprised as I was that Ferguson gave credit to the opposition in his post match interview ;)

TAS it wouldn't be the reason for the inability to play there it'd be the surface. Usually most pitches played in Europe have drainage slope at the edge of the pitch i.e on the boundary lines. Pretty sure Footy Pk, the drainage slope impacts on the pitch too much. Could be wrong though.

Hahhahahahahahahaha. Great Call Jack!

In all honesty though, the best side won tonight. Man U came out all guns blazing, but from Eto'o's strike onwards, it was all Barca.

What a great goal it was too by Eto'o. Turned Vidic inside out and bang, never in doubt from there. All the pre-match hype here in Canada was the matchup between Ronaldo and Messi. The overriding conclusion was that Ronaldo is the more complete player due to his arial abilities, then BANG, Messi scores a great goal from a header.

I don't want to be a bitter and twisted asshole, but I can't help but really enjoy Barca's win for a couple of reasons:

1. Manure seemed to feel they had a divine right to win everything this year. Their arrogance was half deserved, but they took it over the top and for that I'm so glad to see them fall short tonight.
2. BERBATOSSER. Sucked in. Didn't play in the worl club championships. Didn't play in the Carling Cup Final. Played in Utd's FA Cup exit and missed a pen. Only got 20 mins tonight and did sweet FA. Should have stayed at Spurs LOSER.

I understand that many English people wanted to see the trophey retained in England, but tonight I and 99% of Yid fans cannot be happier that it's in Spain.

Gee Bulldog you talk rubbish at times. Everybody knows you hate Man Utd, there is no need to say "Have alot to say about man united but i better keep it to myself." It just makes you come across as a bitter fool. You should worry about your mob as it has been yet another trophyless season.

Barcelona were the much better team so full credit to them. United started off very well but against the run of play we concede and couldn't really get back into the game. Disappointing but it has still been a good season as the EPL crown was #1 priority.

I am not so sure about that. I can recall a few occasions in the press where Ferguson stated how desperate he was to win another European Cup and that is was disappointing United hadn't transferred their dominance in England onto the European stage more often in the last ten years...

I'd say Taggart would be pretty devastated and where to now for United if they lose Tevez and Ronaldo? If you take Ronaldo out of that United midfield it starts to look pretty ordinary. Only a Ribery or Kaka would suffice as a replacement and neither of those two will score as many goals as Ron did.

One would suggest an intriguing summer ahead at Old Trafford.

Just reading a story in Foxsports and Ronaldo was having a crack at Ferguson blaming him for the loss. It's time for him to **** off. Would be a big loss but man am I sick of him not taking responsibility himself he had several chances to score and couldn't find the back of the net. What does he want Sir Alex to go score for him, what a cry baby. Hope he goes to Real and they achieve nothing. Am still hoping they can keep hold of Tevez wouldn't feel very confident with Berba starting with Rooney each week.

Watched the game and as a nuetral I wanted United to win. IMO there were tow big reasons why they didn't.

They couldn't cope with Barca's in your face pressure when they don't have the ball. how many times did you see three Barca players decend on the man with the ball, even when he deep inside his own half. United are more used to doing that to other sides and just couldn'r cope. I lost count of the number of times they either turned it over with a lose, under pressure pass, or just kicked it straight out of play.

The other thing I noticed was Fergussons format for the game. Where the hell was Giggs supposed to be playing? Rooney must have played in 3 different positions during the night and who was driving forward from centre midfield. Carrick is a holding midfielder, everyone knows that, and when Fergie finally brought Scholes on the damage was already done.

I can see where Roanldo is coming from, that team formation was all wrong last night and it cost them the game.

Must mention Vidic. POTY or not, I don't rate him that highly, gives away to many free kicks and penalties for my liking, but last night he was shite. I thought United had picked on of the youngsters at LB for a while. Responsible for the 1st goal and everything that was good came down Barca's right side.

Barca are a team of sublime players, and you could pick half a dozen that were better than any United player on the night. In fact I have never seen a United team look so disinterested and fulorn as they did last night. Thought Rooney was crap, Giggs was invisible, Berbatov was a waste of a substitute. Ronaldo did ok for 10 minutes when he could have, shuold have scored and on two of those 5 shots he should have laid it off instead of glory hunting, but after that Puyot gave him a pasting, and beat him at huis own game.

Still, you can bet United will be back next season and Ronaldo WILL still be there. He did an interview wit himself on Skysports and made it quite clear he will be at United next year.

And news last night is that United may have had a change of heart over Tevez and his contract so expect some movement there over the nest month.
