hence the reason 90% of arsenal fans dont want him buying the club. We havent been spending like city and chelsea yet we are still in front of them this season. Yes we havent wont squat in silverware in recent years but at least we arent spending billions to get nowhere like them.

and i dont see the reason for the buyout myself. We arent in debt (det free by next season) ...this is only for the billionarie to become richer IMO.

Stupid idea that should be stopped at the heels....i would end up doing something to myself if in a few years time if this deal goes through that Arsenal may struggle to compete due to crippling debt... :(

Buyout is a done deal isn't it.

As for Chelsea, they were a lot further down the pecking order than Arsenal when Roman came along. Since then they have won the title 3 times, competed in the CL every year with some limited success and won the FA cup I don't know how many times, so I'd say they didn't spend billions for nothing.

Chelski hasnt done as good as they should have thanks to romans interfearing. If fergie had been given the money that the chelsea managers have had we would be going for our 8th european title in a row. They have been massive flops in europe for all the coin spent on them and they probably should of had a couple more EPL titles

Agree they haven't been as successful as they should have been, but to suggest they've done nothing isn't quite true.

The papers over here reckon the arsenal deal is all done. Apparantly kroenke has set aside 40 mill that he wants wenger to spend. Ian wright wrote an article and thinks its the best thing ever to happen at arsenal

Sounds pretty similar to the Hicks and Gillette arrival which landed Torres ... Hope it turns out much better for Arsenal, because I wouldn't wish that shit upon anyone for their club.

Wright reckons kroenke is a smart man who runs several sporting teams including a MLS side. He understands soccer and wont interfere with any manager or onfield decisions. He will give wenger a 40 mill bounty to spend on who he wants or needs, sounds too good to be true

How many of those franchises he runs have gone under? none, having 5 leading sporting teams in USA must mean u know something. the Denver Nuggets is the the only team he owns which hasn't won a championship.

Now if Arsenal don't go buy a big F off defender with some of that money I won't be watching them, sick of the weak defence. Retaining fabregas is a must and adding another midfielder is a must. Just piss off Almunia and lehman and keep Scezszsey.

Losing Vermaelen to injury for most of the season hasn't helped you either.

I’m not sure if that will be the case.

In the NBA they have the “luxury tax” where any club that goes over a certain amount of payroll has to pay luxury tax. Denver has gone over this is in the past (which shows the owner is willing to put winning ahead of making money) but they have also shed a few decent players over the years to bring down their tax owing. So I strongly doubt you will see any Man City / Chelski like spending sprees but I imagine there will be funds available if Arsene needs / wants.

From what I can tell I think it will be business as usual at the Emirates despite the new owner.

Also Arsene seems to be better at finding 3rd division French footballers and malnourished Africans and turning them into regular first teamers. A lot of his most expensive buys haven’t been that great IMHO (Wiltord, Reyes, Arshavin)

Arshavin was doing brilliantly until Russia were knocked out in the WC qualifiers, Wiltord did well with limited opportunity seeing as Arsenal had Henry, Bergkamp, Lunjberg etc. I think Wenger had no choice with his recruiting coz Arsenal never had the funds for it.

Arshavin has been improving of late but yes nowhere near the player he was before the recent world cup qualys.

With the EPL title nearly gone 100% i hope next season we can improve on our form and win silverware. I see us struggling to hold onto Fabregas now that we havent won any silverware again

What we are lacking in a true leader for the team. Fabregas is a champion take nothing away from him but we need an experienced head out there. In our last EPL title the team was full of these (Henry,Vieria,Pires,Campbell). This is what we are lacking. This to me and alot of the supporters i have spoken to is looking to be the main cause of our issues. Wengers youth policy is great at times but doesnt win you everything.

I know that when i was playing AFL we had experienced heads out there that kept the younger players in line when things started to go wrong. This is the case for all sports. Youth is full of run and excitment but when things go ugly they become lost and dont know what to do, heads drop and become dis-interested

Fabregas has made a plea in recent days to Wenger to buy some quality experienced players for the squad. The current squad IF they stick together will win many a trophy in 3-4 years time but thats in the future, We need something now.

Think you guys need 1 real quality defender. Your keeper pulled off some great saves but spurs pace destroyed you this morning. They could have scored 7 or 8
