Gerard Pique is certain that Cesc Fabregas will join him at Barcelona but does not know whether he will make the move back from Arsenal this summer.

The Blaugrana defender was reacting to mounting speculation that the Gunners captain could return to Camp Nou as part of the Catalan club's election.

With current president Joan Laporta wanting to do a deal for Fabregas before he steps down in June, several of his potential successors also want to bolster their campaigns.

"I still do not know if he will come here next season, but one day he will wear the Barca shirt again because he is a fan and I know that he wants to come back in the future," Pique explained.

"He is a player that should play here and he wants to come, but we will have to wait and see when that is."

Barca tasted defeat for the first time in the league at the weekend and Pique has laughed off talk that the team is panicking as Real Madrid move to within two points of them.

"There are rumours that there are doubts, but inside the dressing room there are absolutely none," he continued.

"There were many people that were waiting for us to lose our first game and now they are happy and they want us to doubt ourselves.

"But the squad is fine and now we will start to win again and continue in the same line as before."

Coach Pep Guardiola has had to reshuffle his team in recent weeks as the Barcelona injury list grows and Pique hopes that will not increase any further.

"Of course the alarm bells rang for some but at no time has it concerned us," he added.

"We have a good enough squad to cope on all fronts and if there are lots of injuries then of course that is not good. We do not need any more injuries and everyone is coming back now."

you wont let up on these RUMOURS will you?

we know there is talk for him to return there but im positive it wont be this summer. If he does im sure wenger as i have said before will ask for an outrages transfer fee like c ronaldos. if the spanish want to pay that for him then let them.

but its odvious he is a great player in your eyes also because you keep going on about it.

No doubt he's a great player. Easily one of the best midfielders in the prem and possibly top 5 in the world.

Your saving grace will be that Barca won't pay a huge transfer fee like Real did. And Real won't buy Fab because he's a Catalan.

It's just funny seeing you swallow the hook, line, sinker, rod, reel, fishing box and jetty each time.

Having said that, it's come from Pique, so there must be something happening behind the scenes. And lets face it, Fabs isn't going to win a title at Arsenal or the Champions League any time soon.

again DA, i dont care about these rumours. You think as your words say ' i swallow hook, line and sinker'. From me i dont as i continually say these are just rumours. But you can continue to think that i fall for everythign you say, i cant change what you think.

And i dont see Hotsour Football club getting anywhere near the champion league or themselves winning the EPL. You may win the carling cup once in 100 years but that gives you no reason to dig at arsenal for not winning silver where in the past five years.

Please remind me when you won the EPL last?????
Please remind me when you won the FA cup last?????
Please remind me when you finished ABOVE arsenal in the EPL last????
Please remind me when you made the champions league?????

At least it gives you something to talk about when arsenal stuff up in the champions league, AT LEAST WE ARE IN IT. If we werent in it you would have nothing to say.

Your the one that takes the as your words "hook line and sinker"

But yes you continue to spread rumours, do it i dont care but no i dont fall in your words as hook, line and sinker!

heard that Arsenal is looking to in the near furture to Expand the Emirates stadium from its current capacity of 60,355 seats to a possible 75,000. As 47,000 members are on the season tickets waiting list

Dont know where we would get the funds for this but knowing the great Arsenal board/owners they will come up with something.

Possibly buy White heart lane, then sell it and build on top of it! :D :D

Got a link for that bulldog?

Seen how many spare seat there are at the emirates today? It looks like a power home game. I reckon 3/4 of those 47000 members could have gone today.

try wiki encyclopedia. Search for Emirates stadium, then scroll down to seating capacity. There you might find it. Have also heard from a few others on it alos. Been in the piplines for a while now

From Wiki:

Possible expansion

Current demand for tickets still greatly outweighs the number of tickets available, with some 47,000 members on the season-ticket waiting list. Arsenal have not spoken publicly on the topic, but it has been reported that the club is looking into expanding the capacity of the stadium from its current 60,355 capacity.[29]

The original article:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2007/sep/25/arsenal.premierleague

As Arsenal's rivals ponder yesterday's spectacular financial results announcement from the Premier League leaders, they will be dismayed to learn that the Gunners are set to explore another possible stadium expansion.

"The next board will extend this stadium and build 100,000 on the roof," Arsène Wenger joked last week. As it turns out, cramming more seats and spectators into the Emirates Stadium is exactly the possibility the current board is considering.

The club's 60,000-seat venue already generates £3.1m every game, making Arsenal the world game's highest earners in terms of match-day revenue and such is the success of their business model - bolstered by the impending sale of 711 flats at the old Highbury Stadium - that the present £255m net debt is projected to tumble to £76m by 2010.

Inundated with cash, directors will consider investing in another capital project. Fresh feasibility studies will ultimately be conducted with the local authority, police and fire brigade to evaluate how spectator entry and exit congestion could be managed. "It wouldn't be easy and it wouldn't be cheap," said a source involved in the original Ashburton Grove project, "but it can be done."

This article is from 2007 - before the GFC. I like it's projection that Arsenal's debt will tumble to 76m quid by 2010. We're now in 2010 and Arsenal's debt is in the region of 310m quid. So they've gone backwards.

i personally dont see where the rest of the seats will fit in to the current shape of the emirates. With the older stadiums in the country being a more square shape i can see that. But with the oval design for the emriates theres no possible way to just build a bigger stand on the northern side, or eastern etc. Half the stadium would have to be demolished

Agreed.

It seems strange that they were talking about expansion so soon after building the new stadium. Why wouldn't they have just gone all out and built an 80,000 seater in 2004?

think it was money side of things that they did not increase it at the time of building.

some good news on the RVP return. Sources on the website are saying RVP could be back by the end of april after that serious ankle injury he got on international duties. God we have missed him but may be not a big thing considering there wouldnt be to many more games left to play after end of april. He could use it as a warm up /get rid of the cobwebs before the world cup.

Injury to Aaron Ramsey :( :( very serious and brought back memories to eduardo injury at birmingham a few years ago. Shawcross was making a geniune attempt for the ball IMO . This is well different to eduardos in a way as eduardos was a tackle from behind and this tackle from shawcross was not. Good to see the Stoke players at ramseys assistance when the injury occured and congrats to the Stoke city supporters applauding Aaron when he was stretchered off. Still a very awful injury tho and know one wants to see any player with this .

Good win for the gunners tho as i know all to well what happen in the same case of a serious injury to an arsenal player the last time.
