How about this one JTC? The "great" Alan Hinton. Your old fashioned "could only be successful in England" forward.

Gold  Hope DA doesn't see it.

CL Final Result

Postby johntheclaret » Thu May 24, 2007 7:21 am

Milan 2 - 1 Liverpool

Milan went 2 - 0 up with about 5 mins left. Inzaghi

Kuyt pulled one back with 2 mins left and the ref blew for full time with about 30 seconds left.

Liverpool were the better team IMO but couldn't score. Gerrard, Riese and Kuyt all had good chances to score.

Crowd unbelievable at the end. A sea of Red, with estimated 40,000 Liverpool fans inside.
News today that tickets were on sale at £6,000 a piece.

Milan winners for 7th time.

Ref definitely blew the whistle a minute earlier than he should've as there was also a substitution during extra time which is automatically 30 seconds extra.
Might not of made a difference but crazier things have happened.

Ref was a disgrace late in the game! Raffa wasnt too happy afterwards - a minute can make a big difference when a side is pushing like that... just ask man u...

Raffa was silly not to bring on Crouch earlier. They were getting murdered in the box when bombing it in. Unfortunately Dirk Diggler was competing against 2 defenders and as soon as they brought on crouch, he started to make things happen. Gerrard had a disappointing night, but Mascherano's job on Kaka was outstanding.

Probably a fair result in the end.

Thought we were pretty stiff on the nightto be honest, as it seemed to these (rather biased Ill admit) eyes that we controlled play for longer periods of time and were unlucky to concede the first goal, particularly the manner in which it was scored.

Thats the name of the game though, as soccer is a sport where any team is a chance on the day, they took theirs and we didn't, so it's congrat's to Milan.

Result update England B v Albania

Postby johntheclaret » Sat May 26, 2007 5:32 am

Dunno if you guys will get to see this. Owen in the side as is Smith, Lennon, DeFoe
Being played at Turf Moor, home of the Clarets. Couldn't get a ticket  so will have to settle for Sky.

Final Score

England B 3 - 1 Albania. Downing 2, Smith 1
Owen played full 90 minutes and looked pretty sharp.
Rumour has it he might be off to Old Trafford this summer ???

I've been hearing this a lot, very interesting to say the least ... I'm not sure whether I'd want to see him back at Anfield, but I definitely don't want to see him with Man U!! :o

Dunno bowt Owen to Liverpool C_P, but bigger rumour is that Eto' might be off there. He has publically stated he would like to play for Liverpool, a buying signal if there ever was one. The new money behind Liverpool has stated that Raffa will get all the fundss he needs to bring the premiership to Liverpool.??

Hey McA, watching the CCC play off final. Few heavy tackles going in. WBA looked the likliest to score. 4 booked in the 1st half (2 from each side). Closest Phillips, Kamara for WBA. Nothing much from Derby yet.
Very nervy game littered with fouls and stoppages.

Half time WBA 0 - 0 Derby

Would have been a full house today but for a cock up with the ticketing computer so about 2,000 odd empty seats.

By the way, yesterday Blackpool 2 0 Yeovil 0 59,000 there although there was just over 60,000 for the league 2 playoff on Saturday.

Edit:

Derby 1 - 0 WBA Scored by Stephen Pearson 61 mins. Derby scored against the run of play with WBA really on top.
Mc A, don't think this is over yet. Although I have been known to be wrong from time to time

Final Score

Derby county 1 - 0 WBA

Derby make it to the EPL.

Mc A, time for a beer mate

You bloody beauty! There's not been too many dull moments supporting Derby over the last 30 years. I stayed up for the kickoff on the net but was too buggered to get as far as the goal. Dare I say - we will need to bring in some new faces over the summer.

Well you will have £60m to play with.
Billy Davis (spelling) is a top manager. Got the most out of Preston last year getting them to the Play offs and now done it with Derby. Remember last season they were hanging around the relegation zone for quite a while. This year started at 45/1 for promotion.

Did you take a punt on them McA?
