Real Madrid have beaten Mallorca 3-1 after coming from behind to claim the la liga championship for 2006/7.

Barca looked to have the box seat for the championship at half time in the final match of the season, leading 3-0 against Gimnastic (with Madrid behind 1-0 in the other fixture). Despite finishing 5-1 winners, Barca only managed 2nd in the title race on head to head goal difference with Madrid*.

*Going into the game - Real Madrid and Barcelona are level on points, with Sevilla two points behind, so any of the three could be crowned champions. Real Madrid have a better head-to-head record than Barcelona though (2-0 in the Bernabeu and 3-3 in the Nou Camp), so if they are level on points at the top, Madrid will be champions.

And Beckham spent more than an hour on the pitch after the final whistle saying thanks to the fans. Then went to each stand and knelt down and bowed before doing the same in the centre circle and kissed the centre spot. For Beckham see Corney
