Pretty surprised with this call. Allardyce is a good manager.

X2
Dont understand these clubs chopping and changing managers all the time. Blackburn has an average squad at best and is probably about where they should be at moment.

 you are both kidding right.
Allardyce only knows one style, buy big useless thugs, play the long ball and try to bully your way to goal. He did it at Bolton and he has done it at b4st4rds.
They are by far the worst footballing team in the EPL. Ask any true rovers supporter what they think of the brand of football they play, and I know a lot of rovers fans and they all say the same. Watching b4st4rds is like watching paint dry. No imagination, boring and without style.

He'll probably end up at Burnley

Btw, O'Neil touted as the replacement for Allardyce although it wouldn't suprise me to see Hughes back there. He hasn't set the world on fire at Fulham and had his best managerial spell for Blackburn.

Wasnt a great game at old trafford i was told as i missed the game.

Funny how the big games this season havent been all they are ment to.

Man city vs chelsea - Man city won 1-0 and wasnt that good of a game
Man city vs Man utd - 0-0 was a poor game both sides didnt do much
Man Utd vs Arsenal - Man u won 1-0 but again it wasnt a great game

Are some of the 'big' matches becoming too big??

Lets hope Chelsea vs Man utd on sunday is a decent game..

I may be off the mark but i think it has alot to do with the ammount of european matches epl teams play. The big clubs seem to change their style of play when up against other big clubs. I think because there is so much at stake the away side is happy to play for a draw and dont take as many risks. Some of the best games of recent times at old trafford have been against lower sides who come and attack because they have nothing to lose. Arsenals attitude was poor and i could tell within 5 minutes that they wouldnt score and that they were settling for 0-0

I only saw parts of the game because I watching it at the gym yest morning, but I actually thought it was entertaining .. Whilst both teams defensive formations at the back always made it look difficult to score, some of the skill and speed on display was excellent to watch.

I am not sure you will see too many 3-3 thrillers involving United in the "Blockbuster" clashes.

For the big games in the prem and Champions League these daysFergie prefers 4-5-1. Very similar to the style Mourinho used when at Chelski. And during that era Chelski werent real easy on the eye but they were certainly successful.

Heavy overnight snow has forced the postponement of two Barclays Premier League matches.

First to go was Wigan Athletic v Aston Villa, quickly followed by Liverpool v Fulham - both on safety grounds.

Although the pitches were playable, the streets and stadium surrounds were deemed dangerous to fans travelling.

Wigan issued a statement describing the surrounding conditions as "extremely hazardous" although the pitch is fine due to the undersoil heating.
MOTORWAY CLOSURES
The statement read: "Despite the club's best efforts in putting today's game on by bringing in snow ploughs and gritters, the 10 inches of snow that fell overnight, and is still falling at the time of going to press, has made the surrounding area extremely hazardous for supporters travelling to the game.

"Public transport isn't running, there are motorway closures and the general condition of the surrounding routes is treacherous.

"The DW Stadium playing surface, ironically, is fine, with the undersoil heating doing its job.

"The club wants to apologise for the inconvenience this causes. News of the postponement has been circulated as early as possible to all official news channels and news contacts.

"Club staff have also been unable to reach the stadium in order to send out text message alerts to Latics supporters."

SAFETY GROUNDS
A statement on the Liverpool website read: "Club officials met with the Police this morning to assess the prevailing weather conditions.

"The safety of all fans attending the game is paramount and although the Anfield pitch is playable, the conditions around the stadium and further afield for people travelling to the match are such that the decision was taken, following Police advice on safety grounds, to postpone the game.

"All existing tickets will remain valid for the re-arranged fixture. We will also offer refunds and publish a deadline date for refunds once the re-arranged game date is announced, to enable us to re-sell any returned seats to other supporters.

"Any guests who have purchased hospitality for the game are advised to retain their tickets as they will be valid for the new date. We will advise all supporters of the new date as soon as possible."

Heavy snow all over
Cardiff v Clarets called off yesterday
There's about a foot of snow here and I'd be suprised if Blackpool goes ahead as they don't have undersoil heating
