Liverpool are in great form  Promises to be a cracker.

Im tipping 2-1 Beckford double

To be honest mate, Rafa won't give a toss about the Carling Cup, so I'd imagine Pool will field their 3rd side.

Good call.

Makes it a good draw for Leeds.

The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

I think Leeds have a real chance tonight Pidge.

Liverpool expected to field a weekends side and Leeds will be up for it

I'm off to Barnsley tonight and after losing to them both home and away last year it would be nice to get one over them

Im hoping so JTC. I don't know what sort of side we will be putting on the park as the league is our number 1 goal this season. Promotion is almost a must for us. Hopefully the crowd is a big influence tonight. Its sold out with around 37,000 people expected.

Im hoping to see Beckford and Kisnorbo in action and hopefully Kilkenny gets a chance tonight because he has been on the bench for the last few games.

Barnsley v Burnley should be a good game too. I'm going to tip a 2-1 win to the Clarets.

Our problem is we don't have the depth to play a weakens side
We struggled against Hartlepool until we brought on 3 1st teameds and the Tykes will be tougher opposition. Doyle will be governed about losing anyone to injury so it will be up to the fringe players to stake a claim

37,000 is a great crowd. The ccc miss Leeds just for thier numbers alone

That's a good point. Only teams with a heap of money can really afford to have good quality depth in their squads.

Its amazing to see teams such as Leeds, Charlton, Southampton and Norwich in League 1. When i started to follow soccer around 2000, they were all pretty good teams in the EPL. I'm sure there are games that include these teams that get significantly bigger crowds than fixture in the Championship.

Its fair to say that Charlton and Leeds should get promoted this season going on current form and squads, whilst Norwich should push for playoffs, maybe higher and Southampton will have to battle to survive after their deduction this season.

I think it's about grond capacity too Pidge. Southamptons new stadium in excess 30,000, but I'm not so sure about The Valey or Carrow Road. I think Carrow Road is around 27,000, still some way short of Leeds.

Liverpool did not deserve to win this game. Leeds played heaps well IMO. Robert Snodgrass had a blinder down the right wing and was constantly causing problems for the Liverpool defence. Patrick Kisnorbo was brilliant. He is deserving of a World Cup place in the squad. Babel for Liverpool played well and was heaps quicker than any other player on the field. Degen looked pretty good when going forward.

We had a goal disallowed after 12 minutes. No idea why it wasn't allowed. The commentators said it was a goal too, so Liverpool were pretty lucky. Mascherano should have been sent off for his stray arm that hit Beckford, but somehow the referree didn't see it. Lucky again. Then they scored. A shot from out of the box, went straight to N'Gog who had the ball, turned and easily slotted it home. It was pretty harsh on Leeds as they had played brilliantly for the match.

It opened up after the goal, but we couldn't seem to convert much of our possession into real goalscoring threats
