Yes while the Glazer family are in charge of the club things are only going to get worse. I did see the champions league interview not to sure what to take out of that. I would love to see Rooney do a back flip and change his mind and stay at Old Trafford. Was reading an article this morning on how Everton will get a 25% of what ever Manchester make over 30million pounds.

City will offer £100m for Rooney. Not sure Fergie or the red half of Manchester could stomach him playing in blue but as others have said, United need the money and no one else can afford him right now.

I can't see him going abroad even though it would be the best thing for him and his personal problems.

One thing is for sure, all of this will be driven by his 15% of the fee agent. Personally I think he is being badly advised.

They buy the football club so they can borrow more money for their core business activities... just use them as a cash cow with no regard for the history and passion

Rooney's latest statement seems to kill off any chance of him changing his mind. He says United lack ambition and aren't buying quality players.

I kind of agree with him, but for different reasons. There is definitely a lack of quality in the current united side and maybe he is getting out at the right time. Let's see what Man U do with the £100m they get for him.

POLICE have dispersed angry Manchester United fans who were besieging the house of club superstar Wayne Rooney reportedly in protest at his decision to quit.
Officers were called out late on Thursday after a mob of up to 30 supporters descended on the star's $A7.25 million mansion in Prestbury, close to Manchester.
It came shortly after a crisis meeting at the club failed to resolve the future of Rooney, whose decision to walk away from Manchester United after six years has sent shockwaves through the world of English football.
Fans have been incensed by the news, and reports that the striker could be snapped up by local arch rivals Manchester City have only added to their sense of betrayal.
The balaclava-clad fans arrived at Rooney's house - which he shares with his wife Coleen and son Kai - in a convoy of cars and repeatedly buzzed on his intercom, reported Britain's Sun newspaper.
They warned the striker not to sign for Man City before police arrived and threatened to arrest them unless they dispersed, said the paper. Six security guards reportedly came to stand watch at the house after the incident.

Just a ploy to get what he wanted perhaps, made himself look like a selfish brat imo and will cop the wrath of the non Man U supporters, can't wait :)

That was the best news I've woken up to for a long time. Fantastic result for United, now things can settle down and we can get our focus back in what really matters winning trophies. Couldn't agree more Jim about City.

Utd will struggle and I'm writing them off already! Rooney is struggling and will do until his personal life gets back on track. He was the reason they were winning last year and just like arsenal with fabregas once rooney struggled towards the end of the year so did the team. They are struggling more then ever this year letting go of leads they would normally finish of with ease and the class is not just there atm. They are lucky Nani has been in fine form

im sorry IMO i dont believe so. As much as you all know i hate Manchester Utd im not saying this because of that i honestly think we have seen the end of Man utds dominance in this game. You will struggle around the bottom of the top ten in the next few years.Top players like scholes, giggs are at the end of their days soon. Rooney wont be the same as he was before all this saga and i see him being sold at a higher price in the next season or so. Fans will boo him and turns against him, happens at every club when a player wants out.

And as much as i hate my man city fans giving me everything over how much they have improved there are signs that that club is starting to gel and it wont be to long before they will be in the top 4 and winning the premier league. they just need to get rid of a few bits of deadwood before that can happen, i.e. adebayor

im not an expert on this game at all please dont think that, but i said to myself that chelsea 10 years ago would become a dominance, i predicted to a few EPL mates that leeds would struggle like they did and they did.

City wont win anything they are a club that come from a losing culture and need to change their whole setup before they start winning. Plus chelsea are in era of dominance so i think they will be 2nd or 3rd for a while. Chelsea have used their money and resources smartly and assembled a great team, where as city have just splashed cash willy nilly. Buying all the best players in the worl doesnt guarantee success just ask real madrid who have got eff all from their squillions soent. A great team will always beat a team if overpaid individuals
