West ham played last 30min a man down thanks to a disgraceful lash out by obinna.
Ben fosters howler gifted west ham the winner.
With the advantage of an away goal id still favour birmingham to go through, they should be too good at st andrews

I didn't think the away goal counted in the Carling Cup like it does in all other comps?

I think away goals are only factored in after extra time of the second leg, that is what screwed Burnley out of a Final clash after they smashed Spurs a couple of years ago I think.

Arsenal could play Ipswich and then West Ham on their way to Carling Cup Glory, could it get any easier?

Yeah we did too, 2 seasons ago after we beat Spurs 3-0 in the 2nd leg after losing 4-1 at WHL in the semi final.
Apparently they changed the rules and away goals only count after extra time.
It's the only comp where they do it like this......bastards

Best and worst night at the footy in a long, long time. Spurs fans taking the piss at the start, dead quite at the end, then just too relieved to do anything after extra time.

Ipswich win 1-0
This was a side hammered 7-0 by chelsea 3 days ago, think arsenal took them too easy.

Maybe, but this result means nothing as Arsenal will win comfortably at Highbury( err Emirates)

Think arsenals congested fixture list might catch up on them. Can see them putting out their b grade for return leg

Not entirely sure about that, they desperately need to win a trophy and this is their best chance.

Agree i couldnt care less really about carling cup if it was FA then a different story. I dont think the players would worry about this loss especially as they have them at home but i do think wenger will put out a under strength side.

You should care about the Carling Cup, you are in the semis now and haven't won a trophy for a long time. If you get bundled out by Ipswich and fail to win EPL and FA Cup then what? Another trophyless season?
