Why the shock?
Thought he was half decent but just couldnt put it together often enough, still in the Argentinian side so obviously decent enough.
Brendon Rodgers told him he couldnt see him getting regular action which is surprising considering some of the other hacks still on their books

3 managers at Liverpool in Maxi's time and none of them have rated him, personally I just don't understand why and it's said to see him go

He seemed to bob up and score goals which not too many Liverpool midfielders seemed to do so it's a bit of a surprise to see him go. I thought he would have found interest somewhere else on the continent but maybe he preferred to head home.

Not a bad move for either party, he is getting on in age, still tremendous player for Everton but still right time to move on imo.
The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

Sad to see him leave the EPL but I agree Il Duce, it is time to move on as he isn't as effective as he used to be.

It will be interesting to see him playing alongside Henry at the Red Bulls.

The MLS is just like a retirement village. The old boys just go there for one last big pay day.
One league I just cant get in to watching, have tried a few times but the standard is woeful

Maybe in the Early says, hit the mls has improved with younger players and alot of good players stay and go there, so it's all that mixed in with retirement village. Standered is better than here.

I agree, with 2 years he probably still had another worthy but not exceptional season left in him, then he would of gone for nothing, so cash in while you can and use the free'd up wages to get Pienaar back, maybe bolster Baines and Fellaini's contract to keep them happy and we are done :)

I know it won't work like that but thats how i'd like it to work. Am hearing the negotiations between Spurs and Everton are falling apart with Pienaar :( QPR and Sunderland are considering putting in a bid!

I agree, everton = smart. For Cahill it Is just about the $$ now, his career is basically over.

and then back in england one year after the A League. Like the rest of them, they think and see the money (mind you playing in A league is a massive cut to what they would normally see) and then they make an excuse up that they wanna go home. They see how poor the A league is...

The comp will never get any better if people bag it all the time, the standard of play in the A-League has risin the level plenty from it's first season to now, the ffa might completely shite, but the level of play is far better than people give it credit for.
