You guys are correct RE: Foster on loan. He's MU property.

Good point about respecting them. Their results and consitency in results is unbelievable.

RE: Fergy being a master, it's amazing that a coach who cut a players face open after throwing a boot can be kept at a club. I think at any other club in any sport around the world, this incident would have been a coaches marching orders. Shows just how highly regarded he is I guess.

Hasn't the biggest criticism of Carrick been his lack of goals? He isn't really a goal scoring player from what I've seen. He's no Lampard or Gerrard. Wish he was still at Spurs, but we'll take our 18mil!

Carrick has never been a consistent goal scorer, he was signed (inflated sum - typical English player) for his range of passing. He hasn't set the world on fire yet but I'm confident he will come good. United need another central midfielder next season though, someone with a bit of class who can find the back of the net.

Yeah that's what I mean RM. Most of the criticism I've heard is that he doesn't score goals.

If MU want a goalscoring midfielder, they should have bought Lampard. Carrick isn't going to magically start pouring them in.

Kaka? That would be nuts!

Yeh it's unfair criticism, as long as you set up goals i don't really care.

Lampard? Haha there is no way he would join United even though he could be set to leave on a free by buying out his own contract (i have never ever heard of this happening before - it makes sense that he can do it as it happens the other way around).

Kaka at Old Trafford? That would be a dream! He is a fantastic player and has carried AC Milan at times this year, he always seems to bob up and score vital goals, no tap ins either.. look at his goal against Celtic for proof. It would be tough to prise him away from the groups of Milan though, they might even want Ronaldo for him and i never want to see him go.

Ronaldo will probably go one day given his age, probably for the challenge, but I'd imagine you would still have him for a few more seasons yet ... Will the Devils keep Saha for next season you think?

I can see Ronaldo going to Spain at some stage, i doubt he will go back to Portugal as it's not quite big enough. He is on a 5 year contract though so hopefully he will be around for a while longer.

I hope Saha is kept, his goals at the start of the season got us off to a flier and set up the campaign, he has had a few injuries lately, at the worst time too with Ole Gunnar having a knee op.

What makes you think Vidic is a liability? He has been wonderful this season, his first bad game was probably at Fulham but he has been a terrific signing and works very well with Rio. He has also chipped in with important goals.. the way he attacks the ball with his head from a corner or free kick is great for a defender and a lot of strikers around the world could learn a thing or two.

As an expert on Man U (Foster is proof of that  ), not seen all the games they've played but the ones I have seen, Vidic has sometimes been found wanting against the sharper forwards, and seems to get caught out of position IMHO. Given away a few free kicks around the box and this week was responsible for the penalty. Obviously with Man U 4 - 0 up, it was of little significance, but I don't think that is really the point.

Not saying he is not a good player RM, Fergie doesn't make that many mistakes, (Djemba-Djemba excepted and now at loan to the Clarets  from Villa), just don't think he has performed to the level of Ferdinand. I do watch Match of the Day every Saturday, and maybe the edited highlights have not always been fair to him, (89 minutes of great work and one minute of errors), but it has been mentioned by the real experts.

Maybe, like Carrick, he just need some time to bed in.

Must remember that United were chronic underachievers until Fergie arrived.

Sure they won a few FA Cups and were always thereabouts in the old Div. 1.

But 26 years without a Div. 1 championship...

Spot on RM, definitely one for Spain. Only Barca or Galactico are big enough, finacially, historically and have the prestige to attract him.

Both have a lot to offer, £150k+ per week, climate and lifestyle and European success. 5 years or no, when the time is right for Ronaldo, pretty sure he will be off. Right now, he must be very happy, Premiers elect, last 8 of the CL, FA cup semi finalists against lowly Watford (Guess Foster will be missing), and idolised by the Man U faithfull, life must be pretty good for him now. The only thing that might get him thinking about a move would be the constant berating he gets from opposition fans. I know he is a professional, and possibly cocky enough to thrive on that sort of thing, but wek after week can get tiresome I'm sure

As for the other European giants, only the Italians come close, maybe Inter or AC. Think you can forget the rest.

CCC Result 30th March

Postby johntheclaret » Sat Mar 31, 2007 8:09 am

Leeds U 2 - 1 PNE

Leeds score 2nd on 90th minute and play time out with 2 subs.

Lewis, Healey and Cresswell get sh1t all night from the PNE fans so it was sweet that Healey scored 2nd.
Ex Claret "Oh Robbie Robbie, Robbie Robbie Robbie Robbie Blake" score 1st for Leeds. He got some bagging for being an ex claret.

Upside, Good news for Derby, Sunderland, WBA, Birmingham oh and Cardiff as PNE drop points. Bad news, Ledds now ply 40 points 39, only 2 points away from the clarets, but we still have 3 games in hand and what should be a shoe in against The Hatters tomoz at the Turf

Thank god CCC is back now England FC have stopped ar5ing about. Woo Hoo

Liverpool ALL OVER the goonies. Crouch with 2 awesome goals, the first in the 4th minute.

Arsenal look terrible. At half time and 2-0 scoreline, the game is over IMO.

MU in strife 1-0 down to Blackburn.

Shrek Rooney is having a stinker. I love it!

Love that Crouch song. Far more creative than the Red's fans chant for Mascherano, Mascherano, Mascherano, Mascherano........BORING!

Saturday 31st March

Postby johntheclaret » Sun Apr 01, 2007 7:09 am

Liverpool 4 - 1 Arsenal. Peter Crouch Hatrick Gunners just not at the races today.
Man U 4 - 1 B4st4rds  MU 1 - 0 down at half time. Then they turned the engine on and all over. The baby faced assassin came off the bench to get the fourth. He has been at MU for so many years yet he still looks about 16yo. United different class
Watford 0 - 1 Chelski. Will update the action when I see it tonight.

In the relegation zone

Charlton 1 - 0 Wigan. Wigan still a possibility to go down
Newcastle 0 - 1 Man C. City all but safe now. 52,000 geordies pi55ed off though
West Ham 2 - 0 Boro. Hammers make a fist of it. Boro hot and cold side. Brilliant one wek, crap the next

CCC (The important news  )

Barnsley 1 - 2 Derby Derby got very jittery towards the end. Late goal for the Tykes made it interesting last 5 minutes
Burnley 0 - 0 Luton   Best opportunity for the Clarets to break the winless run. 19 now, the longest in history for any league club  didn't look like scoring, and the worst game of football I have watched for some years. Bad old minor division times ahead me thinks
Cardiff 0 - 1 Sunderland. No Chopra = No goals for the bluebirds
QPR 1 - 2 WBA
Wolves 0 - 6 Southampton. Like I said, Wolves stumbling at the final hurdle as usual, Soton an outside bet for the play offs. 25,000 embarrassed tangerine fans will be used to the run in capitulation
Hull 4 - 0 Southend. Great result for the Tigers. Pulling away from danger in front of 20,000 fans

CC League 1

top game
Bristol City 1 - 1 Nottm Forest. Not a good result for either. 20,000 there for 3rd tier match
Cheltenham 2 - 1 Leyton Orient
Millwall 2 - 0 Swansea. Clash of the two worst sets of fans in the lower leagues

SPL

Dundee U 1 - 1 Celtic Is the honeymoon over for Celtic
Rangers 1 - 1 Inverness Caledonian Thistle. The mighty Thistles held to a draw my minnows Rangers
Kilmarnock 1 - 2 Aberdeen

WBA 40 67
Wolves 40 66 Bottling it

Cardiff 40 63 Without Chopra, play off's are just a dream
Stoke 40 61 Great reactioin to the loss of so many players and loans.
Forget the rest. Looks like 3 fighting for 2 automatic places and 4 fighting for the last play off spot. Cant see WBA or Preston missing out.
