This is quoted from a Boro website (for some reason!):

MODRIC BLASTS RONALDO OVER THEATRICS

Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric has taken a swipe at Manchester United Cristiano Ronaldo for his theatrics on the pitch.

Ronaldo was booked for diving during the Carling Cup final against Spurs on Sunday, although the Portugal international insists he did not cheat at Wembley.

Modric told Croatian newspaper Sportske Novosti: "He's an excellent player, but he really overdoes the theatrical bits.

"In England, where fairness is especially kept in mind and where a masculine, fair game is the law, such whining stands out even more. I don't know what good it will do him."

=)) =)) =D>
Baaaahhaaaahahahaha, from the smallest man ever to grace the planet! Modric would dead set get beaten up by a 3 year old girl and even he's telling Ronnie to toughen the **** up. Cop that Ronaldo you sulking twat!

yeah good come back, good to see ronaldo also up to his usual tricks wanting a free everytime the ball comes near him, and dummy spitting at his team mates when the ball wasnt passed to him. well done ronaldo. you have the talent, but you act like a certain player from richmond AFL club ( richardson ) when the balls not passed to him he spits the dummy

I find it funny that Man City play like a top 4 team at home, but play like a bottom 3 team when away.

Arsenal should win that easily now they have broken their drought in front of goal.

Still hope Villa hold onto their top 4 position. Would be good to see someone different up there

Sun newspaper reportd a bust up in the tunnel between Ronaldo and Taylor, quoting the Ronnie was furious as Taylor for his "forearm to the face"

Truth is that Taylor went after Ronnie. taylor was still stinging after ronnies theatricals.

Good old Sun. Will be blacklisted in Toon next.

I think the reason the games weren't shown this weekend is because it is against coverage rules to show all of any teams games throughout a season.
With viewers choice we are lucky in that we get to see 99% of our teams games from the EPL.
I think FOX just used a quiet weekend in the EPL to make sure they abide by that ruling.
Probably the same reason why the Liverpool/Sunderland game wasn't shown midweek.

Yeah I think you are right there smithy. Fox can only show 37 of a team's 38 league matches. That is why they didn't show the midweek 'Pool game and probably why they decided to ditch the game last night even though it would have been nice considering not everybody has Setanta.

Yeah, this is correct. No broadcaster is allowed to show all EPL games of any one team. Stupid clause in the rights contracts, but whatever. That's what online streams are for ;) .

I also think this part of the deal was put in by the clubs in order to sell their club TV packages. Most clubs have a 'ClubnameTV' channel which you can purchase online and stream some games live. This could be total BS, but that's some speculation I read on a Spurs forum.

Thought this story was relevant in here as Mourinho is linked with just about every EPL side atm

Thanks to the Evening Standard

Mourinho's quitting Inter - but Jose will snub English return in favour of Real Madrid job
Jose Mourinho wants to take over at Real Madrid after deciding to quit Inter Milan at the end of the season.

Sources in Italy have told London's Evening Standard that the 46-year-old does not believe the time is right for a return to English football and will reject any approach from Chelsea or Manchester City. However, it is he would eventually like to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.
Relations between Mourinho and the Inter board have become strained as the club's hierarchy demand instant success in Europe.

The situation will have intensified after Inter were knocked out by United after a 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 clash.

The Portuguese has also had an ongoing battle with the Italian media ever since taking charge at the San Siro last summer and feels he will have nothing left to prove should his team win the League, regardless of their exit in Europe.

Mourinho also faces being interviewed by Greater Manchester Police after they received a complaint from a fan who claimed he had been punched by the coach as he was standing by the Inter team bus outside Old Trafford, although the club insist nothing untoward happened.

Although City are likely to offer Mourinho a fortune in salary and transfer funds should Mark Hughes depart in the summer, the Portuguese has now set his sights on a return to Spain as he looks to continue to build a successful career in a variety of countries.

Chelsea insist Russia coach Guus Hiddink is only in temporary charge until the end of the season and a significant section of the Blues faithful would want their former boss back in charge.

Mourinho won four League titles, a Champions League and a UEFA Cup in his time with Porto and Chelsea, who sacked him in September 2007 amid rumours of a falling out with owner Roman Abramovich.

His Inter side are currently seven points ahead of Juventus in Serie A. A source said: 'It is not about money with Mourinho - Chelsea made him a very rich man when they sacked him.

'He wants titles and does not think he should be undermined by the board as could happen in Italy. Despite his links with Barcelona, he would have no problem taking over at Madrid.'

Mourinho worked under Bobby Robson at a variety of clubs during the 1990s including Barcelona, where he earned the nickname 'The Translator' before embarking on a coaching career.

It is thought Mourinho's ideal return to England would be to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson at United.
