Teams that have not won at OT for decades are breaking their ducks, this has to give the lower sides more confidence to be able to go to OT and nick a point or three. In previous years teams in the lower half would be happy to nick a goal!

I think the most concerning thing, if I was a Man U fan, is that Moyes is complaining about poor decisions from refs costing them dearly. I could stomach this if these decisions are against quality opposition but lets face it a bad decision against them shouldn't be costing them a win against a side propping up the table.

Liverpool are 6 pts ahead of them in 4th, playing some attractive football and, bar United, play every top 6 team at home in the second half of the season. My prediction would be the European spots will be taken up by City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton or Liverpool. Long way to go but being forced to watch as much Man U as you are over here it's hard to see where their improvement is going to come from.

was a fair game between Stoke and Liverpool last night. .. Scousers forst goal was pure luck after Cissokho's shot which wa going well wide hit Shawcross and wrongfooted Butland.

wilson and shawcross then got mixed up and Suarez punished them for 2-0 at the 30th.

stoke rallied and pressed harf and Arnautovic found Crouch for our first after 40odd then Charlie Adam punched a rocket to square it up at the half.

early in the second Stirling went down easier than a house of cards (to a Wilson challenge, he had s shocker) and Gerrard tucked away the spot kick 5 mins after the restart.

then sturridge came on and caused us some grief and he put Suarez in for his second and the 2 goal buffer was restored with 20 to play.

again stoke pushed hard and Jonathon Walters pulled one back in the 83rd to set up a tense final few minutes only for that to be cancelled out by Sturridge 2 mins later and it was 5-3.

crouch then hit the post with another header and Gerrard almost put one past Mignolet in injury time but that was all she wrote.

if I was a neutral I'd say it was a great match, high intensity and quite attacking (which usually isn't used with reference to Stoke)

but im gutted as a Potters man because 2 of Liverpools goals were preventable on our behalf and one was pure luck...

good signs for the back half of the season though... aup the POTTERS

Liverpool should be further ahead as they have played the far superior football to United so far.

Also... "forced" to watch United.

The game v Stoke when Tony Pulis was in charge was always one I was happy enough to miss, because Stoke would park the bus big enough to put the Partridge Family to shame, and it would usually end up 0-0 or 1-0.

That said, Pulis imho had a pretty good record with the Potters. Having seen bits and pieces of their footy this seen, they've looked far more free-flowing and dangerous on opposition goal.

I only woke up with 20 to play this morning, but was surprised at the 2-3 scoreline and more surprised the game still had another 3 goals in it.

Stoke fans could consider themselves stiff, Liverpool fans would think we should have put the game beyond doubt when we could have .. Mignolet shouldn't get away with the last goal he conceded either, that was crap.

Nugget - Did you see Skrtel apparently holding/man-handling Crouch in the first half? A lot of Liverpool fans thought we were lucky to get away with it?

YES! it was Shawcross at a corner. Skrtl dragged him down and then laid on top of him inside the goal. ot wasnt the first time for the night he was tugging on shirts too. very lucky not to give away at least one spot kick.

Skrtel should give away a penalty almost every game due to his constant groping of opposition strikers but refs let too much go at corners.

Start giving penalties and the defenders will stop scragging.

Fair dinkum - there is lipstick all over Liverpool's appendage.
1st goal - own goal, wicked deflection
2nd goal - both defenders and keeper gift wrap it
3rd goal - terrible decision to award a penalty

You ride your luck when you can but the reds used a shitload up last night.

Story has broken that a Chinese billionaire is about to buy Southampton for £175 million effectively making them the richest club in England and marking a return for Cortese to run the club.

Huge week for Everton and Liverpool... If we beat West Brom tomorrow morning we go to outright 4th and then play Liverpool in the next round. Could almost define who finishes above who on the table and who really wants that top 4 spot

Samuel Eto'o is the first Chelsea player to score a hat-trick against MU since 1954.
