Most teams have had to contend with something like that over the years, particularly the top 4

And the Clarets, who have notched up more than most this season. (56 so far iirc)

OK, rant time. ASTON VILLA ARE RUBBISH! What a JOKE! I'm a touch bitter as a win against Wet Spam would have helped Spurs into Europe, but seriously, what team can walk off the park with their heads held high knowing that the biggest dunce in the premier league Tristan scored against you. Pathetic.

Sunderland did themselves a massive favour with Cisse scoring to see off Hull. Massive result for the Black Cats in the contact of their season. IMO it should be close to enough to see them stay up. Plus it HEAPS the pressure on their Geordie buddies from north of the river.

Portsmouth did the same with a win over Bolton.

The pressure is still on Bastards after their loss at Britannia to Stoke.

DA you should be very happy with what your side has produced tonight (our time!). Despite the 1-0 scoreline, Spurs have not looked at all troubled by the Magpies, very impressive. 'Arry 'as got 'em goin' 'orright! Good to watch Modric and Lennon in particular do their thing. For little men they go very well! Been very enjoyable even after a big day at Angaston watching Tanunda v Ango. 17 shots to 3 is the damning statistic as far as Newcastle are concerned, but it only takes 1 I suppose...

Pretty happy. Would have liked a 3-0 or great scoreline, but a win's a win. Our defence has been sublime under 'Arry and it's no coincidence that it all started with the arrival of Wilson Palacios. He's exactly what we've been craving since Edgar Davids left - someone to really pressure opposition midfielders and not allow them the space or time to bear down on our defenders.

Alan Huttons cross onto the bonce of Bent just before the half was pure class. Once again, Arry's missus could have scored it!

And BAE barely misplaced a pass all day. His switching of the play is a joy to watch. He's our most improved player and IMO, should go close to being the LB of the year. Very, very undeerated IMO.

Poor old Newcastle. They're so bad, you almost feel sorry for them.....almost.

Liverpool 4 - Ar$e shaving 4.

Cracker match, LIverpool much the better team but defensive blunders allowed Arsenal to have about 6 shots on goal, scoring 4, with Arshavin netting all 4.

Didn't get to see it, but surely it wasn't as good as the Champions League 2nd leg between Chelsea and Liverpool?

Premiership race over for Liverpool now one would think, not enough wins at Anfield this year

Yep, Manure have 2 games in hand. If they get those wins will be back out to 6 points and close the door.

It was over months ago IMO. They are no chance. Fairly over-rated team. Chelsea will finish above them.

Agree it was probably over months ago (although Man U had looked a little shaky by their lofty standards in the last month), but you have NFI .. Seriously NFI if you think we're an overrated team.

I can't remember a year in recent memory where Liverpool have been a genuinely legitimate contender .. I think we were this season.

No Over-rated team can sit 2nd in the EPL and make the Quarters of the Champions League, it just can't happen.

Over achieve maybe(like collingwood), definately not overrated don't have the best list going around, but always have a knack of getting back into the game when out of it and winning games they're not expected to, like beating Man Poo twice this season.
Chelsea won't beat Everton tomorrow 1-1 I'm tipping

They dont over achieve in the EPL. This is the first season in ages they have looked like challenging for top spot. They usually go well against the better teams, but lose against lesser teams (ie Losing to Middlesboro this season). If they played as well in the EPL as they do in the knockout stages of Europe, they would be a great team.

You must admit that without Gerrard and Torres, Liverpool aren't that good. I do rate them in the Champions League. Most Liverpool supporters i know think that they are going to win the league and talk them up alot. I think they're good. But not as good as others think they are.

Well that's a crazy outlook to start with .. Last I checked Gerrard and Torres ARE Liverpool players .. Are Chelsea and Man U the same teams without Essien and Lampard or Ronaldo and Rooney?

Liverpool drew 4-4 at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea .. Of course we're a better team with Gerrard in it, but I wouldn't suggest we're terrible without him.
