Thought this should go here instead of the rumours thread.

Remember, this is from the sun.

Kaka in for £243million

KAKA has given the green light to join Manchester City after the club increased their offer to a phenomenal £243million.
AC Milan last night confirmed they had received the mind-boggling bid which changes the face of world football.
And we can reveal the Kaka camp gave their blessing for City to approach Milan SIX WEEKS ago when they first saw just how much was being offered.

City’s bid breaks down as follows:

£108 million for AC Milan.
£108million for the superstar’s wages including taxes. Kaka will be paid a NET salary of £13.28m a year which breaks down to £255,000 a week take-home.
£27m in commission to brokers, middle-men and signing-on fees.

The Italian giants admitted on their official TV outlet the Milan Channel they had received the bid in a dramatic bulletin.
And they even invited fans to express their views over whether the club should sell Kaka, confessing Milan’s board would take a couple of days to make a decision.

Not sure what you would expect FIFA to do. It is an open market spo who pays what for who, really has nothing to do with FIFA.

If you are talking about slary capping, then that's a different story, but FIFA can't just decide that the salary cap is applied to only City.

It will all come crashing down, just like at Chelski. I remember when Roman took over, and all the hoo haa that went with it. Sure, he bought 2 titles, like Jack Walker did at b4st4rds in '95, but it isn't sustainable.

IMO you need a firmer base than just money. You need passion from the players, passion from the suits and most of all, passion from a big long standing supporter base.

That is one of the main reasons, Man U, Arsenal and Liverpool do so well. Becaues they have the big supporter base when th trophies aren't there, and players who actually want to play for the club. I am not suggesting that money doesn't come into it, but in all honesty, do think that Kaka would even have heard of Man City let alone consider playing for them, if they weren't coming in with £250m?. Just like Robinho, who thought he was at Chavski and not City  .

Consequently, Romans interset at Chavski is waining, discontent amongst the players and in a year or two, Chelski will be playing for mid table mediocrity.

Craig Bellamy has signed for Man City. 12m. Re-joins Hughes who took him to b4st4rds during his time a manager there.

b4st4rds Sam Allardyce has knocked back a £14m bid for Rocky's Santa Clause putting a £40m price tag on him.

Fee agreed with Dutch outfit ???????? for De Jong. De Jong have to agree personal terms. Fee around £10m.

Arshavin, in press conference today, has said he wants to play for City, despite the only offer on the table is from Arsenal.

Just shows how money talks. speaking of money, did anyone see the news stories coming out of Milan. Fans holding mass rallies in the City against Kaka joining City. Kaka's dad and his agent currently in talks. Deal done imo.

 Done deal my arse.

thanks to The Sporting Life (and many others)

CITY SHELVE KAKA DEAL

Manchester City have terminated discussions with AC Milan over the proposed transfer of former world footballer of the year Kaka.

City confirmed in a statement tonight they had pulled out of negotiations as there was little chance of a deal being done.

Executive chairman Garry Cook told the club's official website: "Whilst Manchester City Football Club has an obvious interest in world-class players of the quality of Kaka, we owe it to our fans that such a transfer must work on every level; commercially, financially, in terms of results on the field and within Manchester City's broader community."

The dramatic development came at the end of a day when it seemed Kaka was moving tantalisingly close to joining the Eastlands outfit.

Kaka saying no is good for football.

There is no way he could have left after the support shown to him by the fans.

Nothing to do with the fans Marty.

Kaka had nothing to do with it. Milan had said yes, but his Dad wanted too many get out clauses and City wasn't happy with thier side of the deal, especially when they were going to be forking out £90m for him and £255k per week tax free.

It was his Dad and his agent that effectively killed the deal with their demands. Kaka never spoke to anyone from City or Milan during the whole episode.

SSSSUUUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPEEEEERRRRRRR RE: Bellamy deal. For a moment there I thought he was coming to Spurs. Thank God for Man Citeh's stupid owners!

De Jong is from Hamburg and their current gaffer, none other than the affable big man Martin Jol, is trying to Lure Tommy Huddlestone in as a replacement.

Finally, if I were you JTC, I'd be well pissed at Kaka's old man tonight, as he's pretty much single handedly prevented you from seeing Kaka play at Turf Moor next season. That would have been fab.

He walked out on City whilst there were in Tenerife Jabber, but it has been repored that he will be back at City on Friday.

apparently he is very upset that City didn't land Kaka. Personally I think he is very upset because they did land Bellamy ;)

Apparently Bellamy invited Robinho for a game of golf as a way to get to know each other. That caused Robinho to flee the country. ;)

Haha! I would be too.

And RM, if Bellamy asked me for a game of golf, I'd go into hiding as well.
