And this is berore the summer spending spree. Unbelievable, just unbelievable

Manchester City's wage bill soars to £82m a year

Manchester City's wage bill rocketed by more than 50 per cent even before last summer's £120million outlay on new players, it emerged yesterday.
City's financial results for the year ending May 31 2009, had already revealed that owner Sheik Mansour dipped into his vast wealth to wipe out the club's £305m debt.

It included an annual loss of £92.6m during his first year in charge, due largely to escalating wages which rose from £54.2m to £82.6m. That was before City went on another spending spree last summer.
The club's highest earner during that period was £32.5m record buy Robinho - paid £165,000 a week - who has been on the bench for three of new manager Roberto Mancini's four games in charge

Humiliated Robinho on his way out of Manchester City as Mancini gets tough
Robinho looks to be heading out of Manchester City after suffering the embarrassment of being substituted by manager Roberto Mancini 51 minutes after coming off the bench

Brought on as a sub after 9 minutes, taken off again after 60 mins and didn't look the least bit interested for the whole time he was on. £165k a week, he is a bloody disgrace

Tevez - What a legend!!!:

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5877078,00.html

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has branded Gary Neville an 'idiot' and admits his goal celebration in the Carling Cup was directed at his former team-mate.

The Argentina international scored twice against Manchester United in a fiery semi-final first leg at Eastlands on Tuesday, putting City in the driving seat going into next week's game at Old Trafford as they claimed a 2-1 win.

Tevez netted City's equaliser from the penalty spot three minutes before half-time, and he ran to the touchline to exchange gestures with United fans' favourite Neville during his celebration.

Tevez made a gesture for Neville to keep his mouth shut before cupping his hands behind his ears, in response to comments from Neville that he was not worth the money City spent on him, and the defender then hit back with a rude gesture.

The 25-year-old, who moved from United to City for £25.5million last summer, admits he had to contain himself in his celebration, but revealed he was directing his actions towards Neville.

"In all the press here, Gary Neville came out and stood by (Sir Alex) Ferguson's comments, saying that I wasn't worth 25million," he told Argentinean radio.

"I thought he was in the wrong because we were team-mates and I never disrespected him, I always respected him.

"I feel he was a boot-licker when he stood by Ferguson's comments that I wasn't worth that money.

"From a former team-mate it hurts, from a coach it doesn't surprise me.

"I would never do that gesture towards the fans, I would never show a lack of respect towards people. It was directed at Gary Neville.

"Just as I was running off to celebrate the penalty I had scored, I came across Gary and I said to myself, 'shut your trap, keep quiet'.

Overboard
"I didn't go overboard in my celebration and it was directed at Gary, not at Ferguson and not at the fans. I didn't even look at Ferguson.

"You have to do your talking on the pitch. I know that Ferguson loves me, that's why he always talks about me."

The former Boca Juniors, Corinthians and West Ham striker admits he was upset when he first heard of Neville's newspaper comments.

"I was the first to sit down to have lunch in the team hotel and all the papers were laid out," he added.

"I looked at them as, although I couldn't read them, there were (photos) of Gary Neville and they were talking about me.

"Then I asked my team-mates what it said.

"I thought to myself, 'what's this idiot talking about me for when I never said anything about him, when there was never any (problems) with us?'

"It was a lack of respect for a (former) team-mate, aside from the fact that we had won a lot of things together.

"Thank God I had the chance to get revenge with City, although there is still the second leg to come."

Hahaha, cop that Nevill you boot licking idiot!

Hahaha, nice one.

It's a bunch of handbags really, but I think Tevez has every right to be pissed off at Neville. Clearly Neville is a shite bloke.

Love the Neviller..!! Yes he does some silly things that draw the ire from opposition fans (and rightly so) but its only because he is so passionate about his club. Its basically like having the most die hard fan at your club playing right back..!!

I think deep down all supporters would like a Gary Neville at their club.

I'd love to see Neville and Carragher go toe to toe, maybe even throw Terry in for a Triple Threat match .. All similar blokes in many respects.

Carragher is another one i was thinking of in the same vein as a Neville or Scholes. Just seems happy to represent his childhood club...not sure i caould say the same for JT or even Stevie Gerrard. Both great players but if the right offer came along you get the feeling either would bolt for the right price. I mean Gerrard almost did leave for chelski a couple of years ago...i know he did a u-turn at the last second but i couldnt imagine a Carragher, Scholes or Neville even entertaining the thought of leaving.

Yeah fair call (although I reckon Rick Parry had a lot to do with the Gerrard situation), I was talking more from the point of blokes who are relatively hard units on the pitch, I reckon Terry has earnt his stripes in that department (as much as I hate him lol)

I thought that line might create some "discussion". What i really meant tho is every supporter would love a player at their club that puts the club before anything else. As i said Liverpool are lucky that they already have that with Carragher.

As for Tevez yes he is a great player and is very committed. But he has also played for 3 premier league clubs in 4 years...and with his agent i am willing to bet that he wont be at city for all that long either. If i was a manager and both were at the start of their careers and we know what we know now about both players...i would take Gary Neviile everyday of the week.

The sooky, disinterested Brazillian has been shipped back to Brazil to play for Santos in the lead up to the world cup.

His reason - the manager would not guarantee him a start every game.

What a disgrace. You EARN a start each week, but putting in good PERFORMANCES ON THE PITCH. take a look at someone like Richard Dunne - discarded by Citeh as he isn't glamorous enough, but has been an absolute revelation for Villa because he puts in 100% every time he plays.

Robinho - JOKE.
