Always a worry when you chase a 15mil+ player and you're the only ones interested in him lol.

He has only been injuryed since March of this year where he has had surgery on his ankle, I know he hasnt been injuryed longer than that cause he always plays well in the derby against Lazio cant say I am heart broken to see him leave Serie A or Roma. Just an Additional note when he was 16 both Chelsea and Arsenal tried to sign him but he declined to play for his boyhood club
The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

You must have just been unlucky with that, I'll be honest.. I don't know too much about him but saw this on another forum.

Aquilani’s recent injury record

* 4 Oct 2007 – 1 Jan 2008: Calf injury
* 24 Oct 2008 – 21 Nov 2008: Thigh injury
* 28 Nov 2008 – 2 Jan 2009: Thigh injury
* 13 Feb 2009 – 10 Mar 2009: Ankle
* 12 Mar 2009 – Present: Ankle (recent surgery)

Add up the months spent on the sidelines! These are just recent injury figures and do not include injuries from earlier in his career.

Appearance stats

* Last 3 years: Started 27 league games out of a possible 114 (23% of games)
* Last 5 years: Started 61 league games out of a possible 190 (32% of games)

sorry your right forgot about most of last season, still after the surgery he should be ok, like I said cant say I'm heart broken he is leaving Roma and dont care to much if he does well at Liverpool. Was just trying to give some info on him to cp, he may have injury troubles but he still has the skill to do the job and preform well for Liverpool guess as long as he is healthy we will find out the answer to that.

The commentator was saying something about Rafa being happy that they care about not conceding when the title and that match was effectively over, but it still doesn't look good. Obviously not best friends forever those two!

Just coincidence that both Arbeloa and Alonso have now left Anfield???? Interesting...

Arby was always going I reckon and Xabi, well no doubt it was a dream move too good to pass up, to a) return home and b) play with one of the biggest clubs over there ... And perhaps also the fact Rafa nearly offloaded him to Juve a year earlier didn't sit too well with him.

Yeah, I'm sure it is what you say CP, but I just remembered what happened late last season and thought it funny! Purely coincidental of course!

Not good news for Liverpool fans

Aquilani stunner: Liverpool's £20m new boy ruled out for two months

Alberto Aquilani, Liverpool’s new £20million signing, has been ruled out for up to two months with a damaged ankle.

Aquilani, 25, whose transfer from Roma was competed last night, passed a lengthy medical but was told he was still several weeks from being match fit following surgery.

The verdict underlined the risk element in the deal. Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez had singled out the Italy international as his top target once it became clear Xabi Alonso was moving to Real Madrid for £30m.

Bullet point summary from Anfield.

Gerrard, awesome
Torres, invisible
Carragher spent most of the game trying to swap shirts with Patto, sad thing, he got away with everyone of them.
Kuyts goal offside.
Benayouns 3rd offside. I guess that's what you have to put up with at anfield.
Atmosphere, thank f&%k the Clarets were singing, otherwise the word morgue springs to mind.
Highlight: The fat f%&ker who was stood up taunting the Claret fans until everyone started singing "you fat b4stard, you fat b4stard" :lol: :lol: classic

Loads smithy, I'll just have to work out how to get them off the camera and onto here. If I can't i will email them to connie and maybe he can post them.

Whilst I slated Liverpool for the poor atmosphere, the Kop looked awesome when they played "You'll never walk alone" before kick off. I think there were a few others in claret and Blue besides me who just stood there in awe of a mass of read and white scarves. No other club in the English game has that.

Heard bugger all off them after that though.

I would like to add that although one of the goals you mention JOhn did seem offside, the other one was a good call by the linesman I thought.
There was also an instance where the linesman flagged for offside incorrectly in which Liverpool would've scored.
One thing that impressed me BIGTIME, was that in this day and age of constant ref abuse, I can't recall 1 Burnley player blaming the ref for ANYTHING.
It was a very refreshing approach from the entire Burnley side towards fair play and I can't wish them enough luck for the rest of the season.

Had to laugh at the Djimi Traore chants as well. :lol:

Agree smithy, they had a good goal ruled out, but I wasn't going to mention that ;) And I don't see why you need to bring it up either :D

the Traore chant was gold. and the chant to Rafa, "Fat spanish waiter, you're just a fat spanish waiter", and the one to Gerrard, "5 times, only hit him 5 times, I only hit him 5 times, I only hit him 5 times. 5 Times" :lol:

I love being a football fan

Regarding the abuse, I think that philosophy runs through the whole club. you will never hear Owen Coyle abusing or complaining about the ref, and I think he instills that in the players too. I think they are still EPL virgins too and that might have something to do with it.

A couple of my Spurs mates say they are consistently amazed at the lack of atmosphere each year when they travel away to Anfield. They say the 'Just like the library' chant always gets broken out.

Also on the Gerrard chant, he got a big load of abuse at the lane too. "Self defence...you're avin a larf.....self defence....you're avin a larf".

And that's the way it should be. In my few years of watching football, I'm yet to see a ref reverse his decision because of player abuse after the fact.

Although Man USA players seem to have an enormous impact on whether or not a card is issued after the fact.
