Thanks DA, Derby news is rather slow, but I'll wait a bit before I look at the squad and see if they will push for promotion straight away.

Come Wimbledon time SJABC the poms will dig up anyones birth certificate.
Every time Wally Masur got past the 2nd round they claimed him because he spent the 1st 6 months of his life in Manchester before moving to Australia, but when he got knocked out he was an Aussie.

Discussions on the Spurs forums (obviously ludicrously biased) say we shouldn't sell for less that 25m. Personally, Keane is far more important to Spurs than he ever could be for Liverpool, but I don't want him sold regardless.

There has been no mention of the sale of Riise to AS Roma. Surely as a Reds fan, you'd be well chuffed to see the end of him?

I would have thought Crouch had done as much if not more in his playing minutes at Pool' in both the EPL and CL aswell as for England (his efforts at previous club, can't remember exactly who it was Southhampton? Sunderland? were pretty good also) ... Probably not a great deal between them I guess, and possibly a moot point ... Although judging by Smithy's link, you might be right about the valuations of the two players.

Reckon Liverpool will be paying over the odds for Barry, so can't see the Red's making too many major more major moves in the off-season (even with an expected sale of Alonso) given the yanks penchant for keeping the belt tight.

As for Riise, I for one am glad to see him go ... Has been a great servant for a number of years but he's been carried the last 2 seasons IMHO.

Liverpool have offered £17m ($36m) for Barry and basically said that's the limit.

Barca have offered £25m ($55m) for Adebayor but the Gunners have said no way Hose'

Frank Lampard looks likely to join Jose at Inter for £7m

I don't think this rumour will eventuate though.
David Villa on the other hand would be nice though.. :D

Not too sure smiffy. I think there is every chance Keano will be a Red come season start.

Also heard that Fergie is keen (no pun) in landing Berbetov.

Haha, this one has just popped up! Not sure what Reds fans would feel about this move - probably 'meh', but Spurs WILL NOT sell Robbie Keane. There would be a mutiny. Most fans on the forums would rather sell Berbatov and that says a lot about how highly rated and important Keano is at Spurs.

IMO, he'll be at Spurs until he's at least 30 - another 4 years.

Rafa can have Bent for Crouch though.....anyone?

seeing your comment on spurs will NOT sell keane. see lots of clubs saying they will not sell there belovered player or players but once the right offer is there im sure he will be on his way

So Harry to Galatasary, Riise to Roma, now apparently Crouch is heading to Portsmouth, which fortunately for me and fellow Spurs fans, puts the Robbie Keane nonsense to bed. Have a good sleep!

That's 3 out, plus Alonso looking unlikely at Anfield. Looks like some last minute signings will be on the cads for Rafa and his Yankee mates.

Benayoun was touted as a target for a couple of clubs also (one of which was Everton).

Have already signed Dossena and the Barry deal will come through IMO, hopefully land a big name in there somewhere too rather than 2 or 3 "ok" types.

Stevvie Finnan now offered to Villa as part of the Barry deal.

Spurs have reportedly offered 15m quid for Bentley.   . (Bugger that, lets get a decent international player rather than a mediocre, expensive local player).

Everton are also interested in signing Bentley as a potential cover for the loss of Arteta. The loos of Arteta would be massive IMO. I think he's one of the best players in the EPL and certainly the most underrated.

Everton have told Sunderland then need to pout of 12m for Andy Johnson.

Paul Ince wants to sign McFadden asap.

Manure are now chasing Klass-jan huntelaar. Apparently there has been a meeting between Man U and Real Madrid officials over Ronnie.

Arsenal are up the creek. Adebyor is close to gone, Hleb wants out and there only weak links to new players. Still I wrote them off last season and they were great, so Arsene will probably pull something out of the hat again!

Mike Ashley wants to sell Newcastle. His asking price is 420m - 286 MORE than he paid for them. Handy profit that!

Cyclops, Liverpool have received minimal cash for offloading those 3, but they'll still be on the hunt for a big signing or 4.

At this stage, they'll get Gareth Barry from Villa, but may also lose Xavi Alonso. Rafa is also trying to buy David Villa, but he's said he's happy in Spain and wants to stay with Valencia.

No doubt they'll buy a couple of decent players as the season gets closer, IMO they need at least 1 more defender and midfielder (in addition to Barry). As has been stated numerous times on this forum, Rafa needs to play Babel as a striker - he's a natural.

I agree DA but everytime I speak to someone from LFC land they disagree and say he's a natural winger. :?

OneEye .. I think you'll find SA is just saying that Liverpool will be lining up a few signings.

I would have thought Barry could play in the middle, middle-left or Left Back if required.

As for Babel, most Red's fans I speak with are adament that he's a striker, and whilst I reckon he can succeed in that position I'm still not sure whether he's better suited their or on a wing .. Still needs a bot of development in both area's IMHO, but there's no doubting the boy has talent and athleticism.

Yeah, sorry cyclops, I was just saying that the reds will complete a few signings before the transfer window closes (but hopefully not for Robbie Keane!)

CP, I think Kuyt has come into his own on the right for the 'Pool. Put Babel and Torres up front with Kuyt, Gerrard and probably a new signing for the other wing all feeding them.

I wonder if Stevvie G is getting worried about the exodus of players and the lack of real quality available to bring in.
