Jol's Contract Terminated ?

Hows this for British tact.

It was announced on the Tele at half time by the match commentators at the game Spurs v Getafe, that Matin Jols contract has been terminated following an "unconfirmed report",from a club insider. (either during or prior to the 1st half) of the game.

Ps Latest Spurs 1 - 1 Getafe. All spurs in the 2nd half now though. Better brush up the old C.V. cous, it looks like there might be an opening for you.

<edit> The crowd all singing for Martin Jol, great show of support for the manager, maybe the gossip has reached the stands?

<edit> Things have just gone from bad to worse for Spurs as Getafe have taken the lead 2 - 1 after 75 mins.

<edit> Just confirmed that Martin Jol tendered his resignation before the game, (although not by the board YET), and they accepted. Story is that he found out they had approached the manager of Seville earlier this week. (Nice one Spurs, really professional  ).

Spurs have lost 2 - 1 but I don't know how.

I am dead set gutted and appalled by what has just happened. Can't believe the stupidity of the Spurs board. I've had a few beers, so hopefully when I wake up this will all just be a bad dream!!!

Seriously though, what an absolute disgrace. The opening for me should be on the Spurs board because a least I know how to act with some human decency. What they have done to Jol is in the worst order possible. The board is solely to blame for this - NOBODY else but the board. I don't know how those pricks live with themselves - what a complete embarrassment to what is supposed to be a proud club.

Martin can come to my place for the night - I'll help him pull all the knives out of his back, and cook him breakfast in the morning. You can only work with what you've got, and Ledley King being out is a massive loss to the squad. Despite my dislike for Jenas the Penas, there aren't a constant supply of solid CM players around, so what the hell is the JolFather supposed to do?

Anyhoo, enough bumbling...............I'll be crying myself to sleep tonight.

I love Martin Jol, Martin Jol loves me!!!!

Yeah, I was thinking that. Think the assistant coach is in it though.

Next question, who will become the next Spurs Manager?

Moroniho ??
Souness ??
Hughes from Blackburn?
Redknapp for Portsmouth?

Chris Houghton is assistant at Spurs.

Talk is of Gus Poyet being assistant to Clive Allen until seasons' end. Personally, I don't give a toss who we get as long as we stay up. This season is now lost on me. Anything 16th or above will be a bonus.

Juande Ramos is still the talk of the town. I'd actually like to see Klinnsman as he is the whole reason I support Spurs! I could warm to Moron-ho although he is unlikely.

Souness, Hughes and Redknapp can bugger off IMO. Especially Harry the wrinkled, prune faced grump. I really don't like him. I respect what he's done at Pompey, but don't like him at all!

Harry has a great track record of getting teams to play above their station. Isn't that what Spurs need?

Harry does get teams to play above themselves and as I said, I respect that, but he's an ass of the highest order IMO. I couldn't warm to him.

Not sure about Ramos' appointment. He comes with decent cred from his time at Sevilla, but what exactly did he do there that BMJ didn't at Spurs (except win a Champs League spot?). I'm willing to give the bloke a chance. Next season has to be Champs League, or Ramos can go too as far as I'm concerned.

Here are some stats that make decisions like these look stupid.

Ferguson won nothing in his first four years, and no league title for his first six; then, more recently, won only an FA Cup and a League Cup between 2003 and 2007, and had only one good Champions League campaign in that time.
Between 1998 and 2002 Arsene Wenger won nothing, and between 2004 and the present day has won only domestic cups.
Bill Shankly won nothing at all between 1966 and 1973.)

I agree totally, hence my apprehension towards Ramos. If he can't get CL at White Hart Lane by next year, then the sacking of Jol was a waste of time, money and further drags Spurs credibility as a challenger to the top 4 through the mud.

Ramos has come in saying he's on a long-term contract and hopes to turn things around in time, well that's all bullshit as far as I'm concerned.

Spurs have been a laughing stock for far too long, and with the crap that's gone down this season, it seems as though it's not set the change in a hurry. How the hell can Spurs expect to attract and retain top talent with the behaviour shown over the last 2 weeks?

im sure if the spuds had have held onto jol then they would go okay. again comes down to the board and so on and so forth. takes time to get any where as your posts have stated that thee top managers in premiership just didnt walk into trophies the first year ( exception of mourhino of course  )
