I'm sure i wont be the only one a little dreary eyed at work tomorrow morning. Above all else i am hoping for a United victory but also fingers are crossed that this game provides a far better spectacle then the last time these 2 teams met in a final (last seasons FA Cup) which was the most boring 120 mins of football i've ever seen.
Hypothetically if C.Ronaldo can produce a MOTM performance on arguably the biggest club stage would that then rank him above Best & Cantona as United's greatest ever player?

Cantona

Ronaldo...ATM
I juts hope that Ronaldo and the other Euro players do not pick up any injuries so they are right to Euro 2008

I personally reckon Ronaldo has more natural ability than Cantona, but Eric was one of those rare "Cometh the hour cometh the man" types, that carried Man U across the line too often to just be a good player, he was a great for sure ... The number of times he score either the winner or equaliser at the death was just incredible.
George Best that would surely still be showing them both a set of clean heels, just because he did so much for so much longer than Cantona and Ronaldo (so far) have done.

I agree its basically impossible to compare players of different era's - just using a poll taken by Man United members that ranked Cantona as their greatest ever player ahead of Best. Cantona's only critiscm was that he never performed up to his ability in Europe. If Ronaldo can deliver the champions league he must certainly come into calculation.
Starting to feel a little nervous now.....would be horrible losing to another english team.

79 mins
Man U 1 - 1 Chelski
Chelski crap 1st half but Chelski on top this half. Tight game, with no place and Chelski closing down Man U everytime they have the ball
Ronaldo 26 mins, Lampard 45 mins.
time for Gigsy to have a run me thinks.

You beauty!! That was a very very tense game and I can't handle watching shootouts involving my team! I thought we were in shit when Ronaldo missed but thankfully Terry did the English thing and missed his kick. Great save by VDS to save Anelka's shot too!
Congrats on Giggs becoming the club's games record holder, scored his penalty too!
Really not looking forward to going to work.

ROFLMAO
I didn't get up to watch the game, figured the memories of Riise's own goal in the semi would come flooding back ... Thankfully got up for the end of the penalty shootout and SMS'ed my Manc mate to say "Youll still win this" as Terry stepped up to the plate.
Gigg's must have the iciest blood running through his veins and Man U fans would have been stoked with the maturity shown by Nani and Anderson ... I can't recall any BIG goals Anelka has scored since about 10 years ago with Arsenal (when most of the Gunners were scoring them) and IMHO he was always going to miss from the spot.
Being a Liverpool man I think I'm supposed to be disappointed with the result, but I'm not, Man U are at a level I want us to be at and they deserve everything that's come their way this season.

I thought the game was pretty even. united dominated first 40 mins and should have been 2-0 up. Chelski tho made the most of their 5 minute spell and got the equaliser. It was all the blues in the second half and they will feel aggrieved that they couldnt get a second. in the end it all came down to penalties and of course having an englishman have a spot kick for the match is not entirely the best idea.
I was glad to see that it looks like Drogba's last action as a Chelski player was to get sent off. He's a disgrace and despite his ability the Premier League will be a better comp without him.
Well done to United and especially Giggs (on breaking the appearance record for united) and the Ginja Ninja Scholesy who missed out on a medal in 99. (also good to hear ManYoo fans bring out the old "theres only 1 KEAANNNOOO" chant during the game in reference to the former skipper who also missed out in 99 through suspension)

Whilst in the bigger picture of things (given the EPL and CL take greater importance) Man U fans didn't appear too upset at being knocked out in the FA Cup Semi's, I wonder if they're looking back now at it just for the fact that the Treble looks and sounds that little bit better than the doube?
