Please kick the season off with a win tonight Cardiff, home record was shite last season so we need an improvement this year if we are to make the playoffs at least.

Cardiff left it late but we'll take this three points. Swansea lost too, all I need is the Crows to win today and it caps off a great weekend.

Defence is going to be our downfall this year. We have strengthened midfield and up front but with this lot we are going to leak worse than the Titanic on here maiden voyage.

Carlisle: Can't read the play so gets caught out of position too often and is forced into givinig away stupid frees in an attempt to get back. Sent off 3 time last year because he can't tackle, has no timing and plays deperate football.

Caldwell: Too slow. Good captain but just unable to lead by example. Any forward with an incgh of pace can just play round him. Championship football is not EPL. there is a lot more "long ball through the middle" play and with a slow Caldwell and a slow thinking Carlisle, we will get cought out time and time again.

Duff: Good honest player but not as a right back. Wants to play in the middle and needs to play in the middle, but he is asked to play on the right because we just haven't recruited anyone. Gets dragged out of position too easily and doesn't have the same cover he would if in the middle.

Alexander: Was a good honest player for Preston, 5 years ago. Is well past his sell by date at 35 and is juist not quick enough. It's not his fault that he is still getting aspot in the 1st eleven. Can't last 90 minutes and leaves us exposed so often with the long diagonal ball that just takes him onut of the game. Gets drawn out by the wingman, then is left standing as the winger runs onto the diagonal ball.

Jordan: Wasn't good enough last year to hold down a place so what makes anyone think he is good enough this year. Lacks body strength, pace and a general ability to tackle or hold the play up. when he gets forward, he loses it too easily and leaves us exposed at the back.

Kelvenes: Signed this year, only seen him play once in a freindly so the jury is still out.

I have to say that it was awesome to see that Sheffield Wednesday ran over Burnley 4:1 8)

Lets hope its a sign that we are back!

Easy to get excited I know, yet we were fairly ordinary last year so to see a strong win like that has my hopes up!

Oi you. Behave yourself.

don't get your hopes up too high sojo. Burnley were really crap. As a mate of mine quoted, "I've seen milk turn faster than Caldwell". We were really shite and would have let in 3 against Accrington Stanley.

good confidence builder for the owls but then they went out of the League cup at home to Rotherham who are two leagues below them.

THIS WEEKENDS RESULTS:

Watford 1 - 0 Charlton
Doncaster 1 - 1 Cardiff  Donny? Seriously?
Barnsley 1 - 2 Coventry
Norwich 1 - 1 Blackpool
Reading 2 - 0 Plymouth
Sheff Utd 3 - 0 QPR  I guess we shouldn't be surprised, QPR haven't bought as big as everyone says and Sheff U are decent IMO.
Swansea 3 - 1 Nottm Forest
Bristol City 1 - 1 Derby
Southampton 1 - 2 Birmingham - Brum will go straight back up, no doubt about it IMO.
Burnley 0 - 3 Ipswich

Cardiff needed an 88th minute goal to get a point too, bit disappointing.
