Burnely were 1 nil up at half time, JTC would have been going nuts!
Spurs with 2 early goals in the 2nd and lead 2-1 with half an hour to go though.
Im happy as I laid the Spurs half time full time bet on betfair (ie for it not to happen) so got a nice payout there. :D

Well looks like Spurs are through to another worthless cup final and will probably meet United depending how they go tonight.

Bad luck to Burnley... but they have an away goal so who knows what will happen? They only need to win 3-0 at Turf Moor...

Although it is worthless being a Man U fan I wouldn't want to lose it to Tottenham. Would love to take the Carling Cup from them and then to finish them off in the FA cup. Show no Mercy you Devs.

So should United win the League Cup, which they will in all likelyhood, you've just surrendered your rights to any form of celebration.

Ar5ena1, Chavski and the bin dippers would all rather be dusting a trophy than a shelf in their 2007/08 cabinets......

Bad luck to Burnley, but this tie is far from over. Anything can happen when Spurs are involved, so there better not be any complacency heading into the second leg at Turf Moor, particularly with the Clarets away goal on the board.

They were the better side in the first half, by some margin.

Arry.......please, please, please start Jamie O'Hara from now on. He's been great in every game he's played for the last month. Also, please convince Levy to pay Bastard rovers to take back Bently. and red nose to recall Campbell now we've bagged little man Defoe.

Don't worry mate, if United do knock off Spurs I won't really be celebrating. It means nothing to me.

I would have preferred a Derby vs Burnley final.

O'Hara and Bentley were both poor in previous game against Wigan but your point is taken that over the last month O'Hara clearly deserves to be be picked ahead of Bentley and the removal of Bentley for O'Hara against the Clarets changed the game.

Regardless of the scoreline Burnley put in a fantasic first half and respect will be needed to close out the away leg of this tie.

Good luck to SJABC for the Rams tonight. Hope your boys can make you proud.

The problem with Bently is that he's being played on the left. He's a right midfielder, net a lefty. O'Hara has a left peg, so should definitely get the left slot, at least until Gio can start challenging for a place.

Bently is so far behind Lennon in the running for the RM spot, it's not funny. Lennon has been great this season.

Howdy fella's.

what a great 1st half. Bentley is shite, and taking him off changed the game. You could feel the hate when he took corners down at the Burnley end.

We had a couple of dodgy decisions against us which lead to 2 goals particularly from the linesman who seemed to flag for everything. Dawsons dive that lead to the 2nd goal was a disgrace.

Our heads went down too quickly, after that 5 minute bust from Spurs at the start of the 2nd half and I think Coyle made a tactical error although to be fair, the way we had played in the 1st half, I can understand why he decided to keep the same game plan in the 2nd half.

Personally, I would have brought MacDonald on at the start of the 2nd half, moved Elliot to right back and moved Alexander in front of the back four in his best position as a holding player, just to break up the Spurs attack. I would have sacrificed Robbbie Blake and played with just Paterson up front, and tried to hold Spurs for 20 mins.

Spurs would have got more desperate and left more spaces at the back for a chance of a break-away goal.

Big, big ask now for the Clarets but bigger shocks have happened before. We do have an away goal. It depends on Arry's attitude now. If he feels he has done enough and fields a weakened side we could just cause an upset. vital Burnley get an early goal in the replay and then things could get interesting again.

DA, what is it with the Spurs fans. Totally silent in the 1st half (not suprising as we were giving them a bit of a spanking), but 3 - 1 up and still no singing.

Some nights they're up for it, others not at all.
They were probably pissed about conceding a vital away goal. And also pissed that Bentley was playing. He's the new hate figure at Spurs since Jenas is injured, Dawson is playing well and Gomes has stopped being a complete monkey brain.

I did still hear some Que cera, cera, plus a bit of 'Spurs are on their way to Wembley', plus some Wembley, Wembley, We're the famour Tottenham Hotspur and we're going to Wembley...

;) ;) Just kidding mate....chickens....hatching....

I'll zip it from here on.

PS, Canada is bloody freezing, but still warmer than your place by all reports!
