POMPEY AGREE VIDUKA DEAL
Portsmouth boss Paul Hart has revealed Mark Viduka has accepted a deal in principle, but is waiting for the striker to return from holiday.

Viduka is a free agent after leaving Newcastle United earlier in the summer and has been linked with a move to Fratton Park.

The Australian striker is currently on holiday and there have been reports suggesting he is holding out for a two-year contract, rather than the 12-month deal offered by Pompey.

However, Hart feels an agreement has been reached with the 33-year-old as he aims to add to his squad before the opening game of the season against Fulham next weekend.

Probably a good move for both the Duke and Pompey.

Not sure the deal is as done as the chairman thinks DA. Viduka reported as saying he wants a 2 year deal. but he might change his mind if no other offers come in for him.

Agree though, good pick up for Pompey if he does sign

By all accounts, Burnley have almost completed the signing of Bikey from Reading.

I would have thought after his performance in the playoffs last season against the Clarets, he'd be the last bloke they'd pick up. Still he's a big unit and anyone can have a brain fade.

A brain fade in such a big game isn't great though.. not sure how he will fare in the EPL.

From memory he was with Reading in the EPL previously?

They got relegated, so he probably didn't fare too well. Fingers crossed that improves in Lancashire.

Well after all the hoo-haa early this summer, the transfer market closed relatively lifeless.

Spurs got Niko Kranjar for 2.5mquid which I think is an outstanding bit of business considering us and Le Arse were both trying to sign him this time last year for 10m.

Elsewhere, Burnley got David Nugent, which is an interesting signing.

Richard Dunne is still on his way to Villa, although the deal still requires the finishing touches.

Everton bought Dutchman Johhny Heitinga

Birmingham bought in Teemu Tainio.

Not much else going on really. All the fireworks seemed to happen early in the piece with the Kaka, Ronaldo, Et'o, Ibra, Alonso, Benzema, Valencia, Owen, Barry, Adebayor, Tevez and the like all being done a while back.

From Celtic to Hull. Strange move but I guess Hull had to land a striker eventually, they made a bit for almost every striker going around.

In big news Chelsea have been banned from signing players for TWO transfer windows.

They will appeal the decision.

Hahaha, good to see the BB is taking off!

Agree with you, the Duke and Bole are very similar players in terms of their ability to hold the ball up and bring other players into the game.

Good signing for free though, depending on wages. Barlton Bole is a bit of a sicknote too.

Word coming out that Liverpool met with Real officials during their recent spain visit in the hope of signing Rafael Van Der Vaart.

Quality player if LFC can get him for the reported fee of 7 mill.

If only we could find receipts for the transfer of Lucas/.

A few whispers doing the round that Hicks and Gillette just prior to sale of club will sell Torres, Babel, Mascherano and Kuyt, effectively pocketing the $$.

Hopefully just typical pommy tabloid linked BS, but who knows, you would think some sales might be required for them to cover their failed investment.
